ગદષ્ટિસમુચ્ચય અજમાવવા માટે યોગ્ય અધિકારી જ હવે જોઈએ અને તે અધિકારી અત્રે કહ્યા તે મહાત્ લક્ષણ–ગ્યતાવાળા કુલગી ને પ્રવૃત્તચક ગીઓ છે.
વળી કાચ પાર પચાવ જેમ સહેલું નથી, અને જીરવવાની શક્તિ વિના ઉલટ ફૂટી નીકળે છે, તેમ આ ગ-પ્રયાગરૂપ પારો પચાવો સહેલું નથી, અને તે પચાવવાની
તાકાત ન હોય તે ઊલટો અનર્થરૂપે ફૂટી નીકળે છે ! અથવા પૌષ્ટિક યોગ-રસાયન રસાયન પચાવવું જેમ સહેલું નથી, અને તેને પ્રયોગ મંદાગ્નિવાળા
અનધિકારી દુર્બળ મનુષ્ય પર કરવામાં આવે, તો તે તેને ભારે પડી જાય છે, અને વિપરીત પરિણામ આપે છે, તે એટલે સુધી કે તેને પ્રાણ પણ હરે છે; પણ જે યોગ્ય જઠરાગ્નિવાળા અધિકારી પર તેને પ્રયોગ કરવામાં આવે તે તેને આરોગ્ય આપી દીર્ધાયુ બક્ષે છે; તેમ આ ગ-રસાયનને પ્રયોગ મંદ શક્તિવાળા અનધિકારી જીવ પર કરવામાં આવે છે તે તેને પચતું નથી, અને ઉલટું તેનું મિથ્યા અભિમાનરૂપ અજીણ ઉપજાવી અનર્થકારી થઈ પડે છે, યાવત્ ભાવ–પ્રાણ હરણરૂપ ભાવમૃત્યુ કરે છે; પણ જે એગ્ય ઉદ્દીપ્ત શક્તિસંપન્ન થેગી પુરુષરૂપ અધિકારીને આપવામાં આવે તો તે તેને બરાબર પચે છે, અને ભવરોગ નિમૂળ નાશ કરી અજરામરપણું આપે છે.
(૧) શસ્ત્ર પકડતાં પણ ન આવડતું હોય એવા બાલના હાથમાં જે શસ્ત્ર આપવામાં આવે, તે તે ઉલટું તેનું જ ગળું કાપનારૂં થઈ પડી ભક્ષણ કરનાર જ થઈ પડે છે; પણ
યેગ્ય શસ્ત્રજ્ઞ સુભટના હાથમાં તે રક્ષણ કરનાર થાય છે. તેમ આ યુગ દર્શીત પ્રયોગ પણ જે અનધિકારી અનભિજ્ઞ અજાણ એવા બાલજીવના શસ્ત્રાદિનું હાથમાં આપવામાં આવે, તે દુગૃહીત હોવાથી, તેનું જ અકલ્યાણરૂપ દષ્ટાંત
ભક્ષણ કરનાર થઈ પડે; અને જે યોગ્ય સુજ્ઞ યેગાધિકારીના હાથમાં
આવે, તે સુગૃહીત થવાથી, તેનું ભવભયમાંથી રક્ષણ કરનાર થઈ પડે. ( ૨ ) અથવા અગ્નિને જે બરાબર ન પકડ્યો હોય તો દઝાડી દે, તેમ યોગાગ્નિને પ્રયોગ જે બરાબર-વિધિથી ન પકડયો હેય, દુગૃહીત હોય તે ભવભ્રમણતાપથી દઝાડી દે ! (૩) અથવા વ્યાલ-સાપ જે દુગૃહીત હોય, Gધ પૂંછડેથી પકડયો હોય, તે તે પકડનારને જ સ મારી મૃત્યુ નીપજાવે છે, તેમ ગ-પ્રયાગ પણ જે દુગૃહીત હોય તે ભવહેતુ થઈ પડી ભાવ-મૃત્યુ નીપજાવે છે. શ્રીમાન હરિભદ્રસૂરિજીએ શ્રી યોગબિન્દુમાં કહ્યા પ્રમાણે શ્રમણ્ય-શ્રમણપણું જો દુહીત હોય તે અનંત સંસારનું કારણ થઈ પડે છે, તેમ યોગ-પ્રયોગ જ દુગૃહીત હોય તો અનંત ભવભ્રમણનું કારણ થઈ પડે છે !
આમ સર્વથા આ ગ-પ્રયોગ યોગ્ય એવા ગી પુરુષના હાથમાં જ મૂકવા x “ મત ga ઘ રાણાનવ્યાસુદનિમઃ |

(2) Or, if fire is not held properly, it burns, similarly, if the yoga-agni is not held properly, it burns with the heat of birth-wandering, because it is ill-conceived! (3) Or, a snake, if it is ill-conceived, and held by the tail, kills the holder, similarly, G-prayag, if it is ill-conceived, becomes a cause of death in the form of Bhav-mrityu. As Shriman Haribhadrasuriji said in Shri Yogabindu, if Shramanya-Shramanapan is ill-conceived, it becomes the cause of endless samsara, similarly, if yoga-prayog is ill-conceived, it becomes the cause of endless birth-wandering!
