Sthira drishti: The supreme fearlessness of the knowledgeable one who is free from all fears
(489) "O Lord Neminath, the sun of the world, I have been deluded by the beginningless ignorance. Abandoning the false and negligent delusion, I have attained the nectar-like true knowledge. The natural manifestation of the discrimination between the self and the non-self has firmly established the means of spiritual practice within me. Becoming the supporter of the knowable, the essential nature of the knower has become steady, and my own nature's essence has become stable."
- Tattvaranjini Mahamuni Shri Devachandrajī
"Dhairyata-nirbhayata. How much it burns on the head, who can extinguish it? O spotless one!" - Shri Anandghanji
These supreme-visioned great souls are thus discriminative, steady, unwavering, and supremely fearless, because the cause of fear and restlessness is the ignorance of one's own nature, but those who have realized the nature of the self firmly know that nothing of mine is going anywhere, what is mine is with me, and all else is foreign. "Whose is this, and what is mine? That which is Yours is with You, all else is foreign. So, what fear do I have? What worry? What delusion?"
"In all respects, I am distinct from all, I am the supreme, inconceivable bliss-nature, the absolute pure experiential form alone. Where is distraction? What delusion? What fear? What sorrow? What other state? I am pure, supreme, most tranquil consciousness, devoid of any differentiation. I abide in my own essential nature. I become one with it. Peace, peace, peace."
It is such right-visioned ones who are capable of this supreme courage, that when the thunderbolt falls and they are trembling with fear, they unhesitatingly cut off that path, knowing themselves to be the indestructible knowledge-embodied, free from the seven fears. And thus, those who have the supreme unwavering certainty of their own self-nature free from any doubt are the truly fearless.
