વાગપ્ટિસમુચ્ચય
ત્યારે ભગવાન તેને જવાબ આપે છે કે જેને આવા પ્રશ્નનો અવકાશ છે એવા હે આનંદઘન ! હારા આત્માને ધન્ય છે ! તું મનમાં ધીરજ ધરીને સાંભળ! હું તને શાંતિસ્વરૂપ જેમ પ્રતિભાસ્યું છે તેમ કહું છું:
“ધન્ય તું આતમ જેહને, એ પ્રશ્ન અવકાશ રે;
ધીરજ મન ધરી સાંભળો, કહું શાંતિ પ્રતિભાસ રે...શાંતિ.” ૧. અવિશુદ્ધ ને સુવિશુદ્ધ જે જે ભાવો ભગવાન જિનવરે-પરમ વીતરાગદેવે કહ્યા છે, તે તેમજ અતિથ્ય અથવું અત્યંત સાચા જાણીને સહે, શ્રદ્ધ, દઢ આત્મપ્રતીતિથી માન્ય કરે, તે શાંતિપદની પ્રથમ સેવા છે, શાંતિમાર્ગનું પ્રથમ પદ-પગથિયું છે.
૨, અને આગમના પરમાર્થ રહસ્યને ધારણ કરનારા, સમ્યકત્વવત અર્થાત્ આત્મજ્ઞાની, સારભૂત એવી સંવર કિયા કરનારા, જ્ઞાનીઓના સનાતન મોક્ષમાર્ગના સંપ્રદાયને અનુસરનારા, સદાય અવંચક, સર્વથા આજુ-સરલ, અને શુદ્ધ આત્માનુભવના આધારરૂપ, એવા સદગુરુનું જે સેવન તે શાંતિપદની સેવાનું પરમ અવલંબન છે. તેમજ અન્ય પણ શુદ્ધ આલંબન આદરવા ને બીજી બધી જ જાલ છોડી દેવી, તથા સર્વ તામસી વૃત્તિઓ પરિહરી સુંદર સાત્વિકી વૃત્તિઓ ભજવી એ શાંતિ સ્વરૂપને પામવાને માર્ગ છે.
“ભાવ અવિશુદ્ધ સુવિશુદ્ધ જે, કહ્યા જિનવર દેવ રે; તે તેમ અવિત સહે, પ્રથમ એ શાંતિપદ સેવ રે..શાંતિ આગમધર ગુરુ સમકિતી, કિરિયા સંવર સાર રે; સંપ્રદાયી અવંચક સદા, શુચિ અનુભવ આધાર રે....શાંતિ શુદ્ધ આલંબન આદરે, તજી અવર જંજાલ રે;
તામસી વૃત્તિ સવિ પરિહરી, ભજે સાત્વિકી શાલ રે...શાંતિ.” ૩. તેમજ જેમાં ફલને વિસંવાદ છે નહિ, અચૂકપણે જે ઈષ્ટ મિક્ષફલ આપે જ છે, જેમાં શબ્દ છે તે બરાબર અર્થ સાથે સંબંધ-સુમેળ ધરાવે છે, અર્થાત્ શબ્દનયે ખરેખર પરમાર્થ અર્થમાં તે તે સત્ સાધન સેવાય છે–પ્રયે જાય છે, અને જેમાં સકલ નયવાદ વ્યાપી રહે છે, અર્થાત્ સર્વ નય જેમાં અવિરેધી–અવિસંવાદીપણે એક પરમાર્થ સાધકપણે પ્રવર્તે છે, એવા શિવસાધનની-સમ્યગદર્શનાદિ મોક્ષસાધનની સંધિ કરવી, એવા સમ્યક મક્ષસાધન જોડવા-પ્રજવા, તે શિવસ્વરૂપ-મોક્ષસ્વરૂપ પરમ શાંતિમાર્ગને શ્રેષ્ઠ ઉપાય છે.
ફલ વિસંવાદ જેહમાં નહિ, શબ્દ તે અર્થ સંબંધી રે,
સકલ નયવાદ વ્યાપી રહ્યો, તે શિવસાધન સંધિ રે....શાંતિ. ” ૪. આત્મપદાર્થને વિરોધ ન આવે એ વિધિ-પ્રતિષેધ કરી, મહાજને રહેલે એ આત્માનો ગ્રહણવિધિ આદરવો,-એ આગમમાં કહેલો શાંતિમાર્ગને બધ-ઉપદેશ છે.

The impure and the pure, the emotions that Lord Jinavara - the supreme Vitaraga Deva - has spoken of, know them as they are, with hospitality or utmost truth, accept them with faith and firm self-realization, this is the first service of the path of peace, the first step-footprint of the path of peace.

And those who hold the ultimate meaning of the Agamas, those who are Samyaktava, that is, self-knowing, those who perform the virtuous actions of Samvara, those who follow the eternal path of liberation of the knowers, those who are always unwavering, completely simple and pure, and those who are the foundation of pure soul experience, the service of such a true Guru is the ultimate support of the service of the path of peace. Similarly, to respect other pure supports, to abandon all other entanglements, and to perform beautiful sattvic actions by abandoning all tamasic tendencies, is the path to attain the form of peace.

"The emotions, impure and pure, that Jinavara Deva has spoken of; know them as they are, this is the first service of the path of peace...peace.
The Agamas, the Guru, the Samyaktava, the virtuous actions of Samvara, the essence; the community, unwavering always, the foundation of pure experience...peace.
Respect pure supports, abandon other entanglements;
Abandon all tamasic tendencies, perform sattvic actions...peace."

Similarly, to connect with the auspicious means - the Samyagdarshan, etc., the means of liberation - which do not have any contradiction in the fruits, which unfailingly give the desired mixed fruits, in which the words are connected with the meaning, that is, the words truly serve the ultimate meaning, and in which the entire Nayavada pervades, that is, all the Naya operate in a non-contradictory, non-conflicting manner, as a means of achieving the ultimate meaning, this is the best remedy for the path of supreme peace, the path of Shiva-form, the path of liberation.

"The fruits, in which there is no contradiction, the words are connected with the meaning;
The entire Nayavada pervades, this is the connection with the auspicious means...peace."

4. To perform the rituals and prohibitions that do not oppose the essence of the self, to respect the method of accepting the soul as described in the Mahajanas, this is the all-encompassing teaching of the path of peace as described in the Agamas.
