મણિ શાય-આધ્યાત્મિક ભાવયા
(૩૭૩) અધ્યાત્મ યજ્ઞ છે, બ્રહ્મXય છે, અને તે જ પ્રશસ્ત હોઈ સર્વ સપુરુષોને સંમત છે.
મહાત્મા જ્ઞાનેશ્વર મહારાજ કહે છે કે–
હે પાથ ! એવી રીતે કે પોતાના સર્વ દેનું ક્ષાલન કરી નાખે છે, કેઈ હૃદયરૂપી અરણીમાં વિચારરૂપ મંથન કરીને, અને તેને પૈયરૂપ ભારથી દાબીને, તથા શાંતિરૂપ દોરીથી હચમચાવીને ગુરુવાક્યરૂપ મંત્રવડે મંથન કરે છે. એવી રીતે સર્વ વૃત્તિઓનું શક્ય કરીને મંથન કરવાથી ત્યાં તત્કાળ કાર્યસિદ્ધિ થાય છે. તે કાર્યસિદ્ધિ એ કે, ત્યાં તરત જ્ઞાનરૂપી અગ્નિ પ્રજવલિત થાય છે. અર્થાત્ પ્રથમ અદ્ધિસિદ્ધિના મોહરૂપ ઉત્પન્ન થયેલા ધૂમાડાને લેપ થતાં અગ્નિની સૂમ ચિનગારી ઉત્પન્ન થાય છે. એ પછી યમ-નિયમના ગે સહજ તૈયાર થયેલા મનરૂપ કયલાની સહાયતાથી તે અગ્નિને સળગાવવામાં આવે છે. એની સહાયથી મોટી જવાળા ઉત્પન્ન થાય છે. ત્યારપછી વાસનારૂપ સમિધેને અનેક પ્રકારના મેહરૂપ ધૃતનું લેપન કરીને તેમને બાળી નાંખવામાં આવે છે. ત્યારપછી જીવરૂપ દીક્ષિત, પ્રદીપ્ત કરેલા જ્ઞાનરૂપ અગ્નિમાં ઇંદ્રિય-કર્મોની આહુતિ આપી દે છે. અંતે પ્રાણુકર્મના “સુવા' નામક યજ્ઞપાત્રની સહાયથી અગ્નિમાં પૂર્ણ આહુતિ કર્યા પછી એજ્યબેધરૂપ અવભૂથ સ્નાનને લાભ પ્રાપ્ત થાય છે, અને સંયમાગ્નિમાં ઇંદ્રિય આદિક હોમદ્રવ્યોનું હવન કરી દીધા પછી બાકી રહેલા આત્મસુખને પુરેડાશ તરીકે સ્વીકાર કરવામાં આવે છે. ?
પ્રથમ વૈરાગ્યરૂપ ઈધનની પૂર્ણતાથી ઇન્દ્રિયરૂપ અગ્નિને પ્રજવલિત કરીને તેમાં વિષયરૂપ દ્રવ્યની આહુતિ આપવામાં આવે છે, ત્યાર પછી વાસનરૂપ ભૂમિકાને શુદ્ધ કરીને તેની ઉપર મૂળબંધ મુદ્રાને એટલે બાંધવામાં આવે છે, અને તેની ઉપર શરીરરૂપ મંડપ ઉભે કરાય છે. તે સ્થાને ઇંદ્રિયનિગ્રહરૂપ અગ્નિના કુંડમાં ઇંદ્રિયરૂપ હેમદ્રવ્યો અપીને યોગમંત્રવડે હવન કરાય છે. એ પછી મન અને પ્રાણના નિગ્રહરૂપ હોમદ્રવ્યોની તૈયારીથી ધૂમાડા વિના જ નિર્દોષ જ્ઞાનાગ્નિને સંતુષ્ટ કરવામાં આવે છે. એવી રીતે એ સાહિત્યને જ્ઞાનમાં અર્પણ કરીને, પછી તે જ્ઞાન પિતે બ્રહ્મમાં લય પામે છે, અર્થાત્ x"ब्रह्मार्पणं ब्रह्म हविब्रह्माग्नौ ब्रह्मणा हुतम् । ब्रह्मैव तेन गन्तव्यं ब्रह्मकर्मसमाधिना ॥
सर्वाणींद्रियकर्माणि प्राणकर्माणि चापरे । आत्मसंयमयोगाग्नौ जुह्यति ज्ञानदीपिते ॥ શ્રેયાર મચાવલા જ્ઞાનયજ્ઞ પરંતર સર્વ વિ પાર્થ જ્ઞાને પરિણાવ્યો ”—ગીતા.
અથત–(૧) જે બ્રહ્મને અર્પણ કરવામાં આવે છે, તે બ્રહ્મરૂપ હવિ (હોમ દ્રવ્ય ), બ્રહ્મ અનિમાં, બ્રધથી હોમવામાં આવે છે; અને બ્રહ્મ કમ સમાધિથી તેને બ્રહ્મ પ્રત્યે જ જવાનું છે, બ્રહ્મને જ પામવાનું છે. (૨) બીજાઓને વળી સર્વ ઇદ્રિય અને પ્રાણુકર્મોને જ્ઞાનથી પ્રદીપ્ત થયેલા આત્મસંયમરૂપ ગ–અગ્નિમાં હોમી દે છે. (૩) હે પરંતપ ! દ્રવ્યમય યજ્ઞ કરતાં જ્ઞાનયજ્ઞ શ્રેયસકર છે. હે પાર્થ ! સઘળુંય સર્વ કર્મ જ્ઞાનમાં પરિસમાપ્ત થાય છે.

O Path! In such a way that one washes away all one's sins, by churning in the heart-shaped churn, and pressing it with the wheel-shaped weight, and shaking it with the peace-shaped rope, and churning it with the Guru-word-shaped mantra. In this way, by churning all the tendencies, there is immediate accomplishment of the task. That accomplishment is that, there, immediately, the fire of knowledge is ignited. That is, first, the smoke produced by the Moharoop of the Adhisiddhi, is covered, and the spark of the fire is produced. After that, with the help of the mind-shaped fuel, which is naturally prepared by the Yama-Niyam, that fire is ignited. With its help, a large flame is produced. After that, the desire-shaped fuel is burned by applying various types of love-shaped ghee. After that, the soul-shaped initiate, offers the oblation of the senses-actions in the ignited fire of knowledge. Finally, with the help of the "Suva" named yajna vessel of the Pranakarma, after offering the full oblation in the fire, the benefit of the Abhhuth bath is obtained, and after offering the oblation of the senses etc. in the fire of restraint, the remaining soul-bliss is accepted as the offering.
First, by the fullness of the renunciation-shaped fuel, the sense-shaped fire is ignited, and the subject-shaped material is offered in it, then the desire-shaped foundation is purified, and the fundamental mudra is tied on it, and the body-shaped mandap is erected on it. In that place, the sense-shaped gold is offered in the fire-pit of the sense-restraint-shaped fire, and the havan is performed with the yoga mantra. After that, the mind and breath are prepared as the offering material, and the pure fire of knowledge is satisfied without smoke. In this way, by offering that literature to knowledge, then that knowledge is absorbed in Brahman, that is, "ब्रह्माग्नि ब्रह्म हविब्रह्माग्नौ ब्रह्मणा हुतम् । ब्रह्मैव तेन गन्तव्यं ब्रह्मकर्मसमाधिना ॥
सर्वाणींद्रियकर्माणि प्राणकर्माणि चापरे । आत्मसंयमयोगाग्नौ जुह्यति ज्ञानदीपिते ॥ श्रेयस्कर मचाबला ज्ञानयज्ञ परंतर सर्व वि पार्थ ज्ञाने परिनवयो ”—गीता.
