હજુ મને છળી રહ્યા છે, ને હું પરપરિણતિમાં અમૂત્રપણે ભળી રહ્યો છું, પણ હવે તમારા જેવા સાહેબ મને મળ્યેા છે, એટલે એ મ્હારા ભવભય પણ ટળ્યો છે, એમ હું માનું છું. હે વીતરાગ દેવ ! તમારૂ તત્ત્વ-રસાયન મેં પીધું છે, ભક્તિથી મેં તમને મ્હારા ચિત્તમાં વસાવ્યા છે, એટલે મ્હારા ભવરૂપ ભાવરાગ મટી ગયા છે, એમ મને લાગે છે. હે પ્રભુ ! આપનું દર્શીન થતાં મ્હારા દુઃખ–દૌર્ભાગ્ય દૂર થયા છે, અને મને સુખસપત્તિ મળી છે. તમારા જેવા ધી'ગો ધણી” મે ‘માથે કર્યાં' છે, તે પછી મ્હારા વાળ પણ કાણુ વાંકા કરી શકે એમ છે ?

“દુઃખ ! દાહગ ફ્રે ટળ્યા રે, સુખ સપદ શું ભેટ;
ધીંગ ધણી માથે કયા રે, કુણુ ગજે નર “ખેટ .....વિમલજિન !”—શ્રી માનદઘનજી “જે અતિ દુસ્તર જલધિ સમા સંસાર જો,
તે ગેાપદ સમ કીધા પ્રભુ અવલબને ૨ લે” પિ હું મેહાર્દિકે લિયેા, પરપરણિત શું ભળિયા રે....પ્રભુ
પણ હવે તુજ સમ સાહિબ મળિયેા, તિણે ભવભય સવિ ટળિયા રે....પ્રભુ “પણુ નવિ ભય જિનરાજ પસાયે, તત્ત્વરસાયન પાયે રે....પ્રભુ॰ અંતરજામી !
પ્રભુ ભગતે નિજ ચિત્ત વસાથે, ભાવરેાગ મિટ જાયે રે....પ્રભુ” શ્રી દેવચ`દ્રજી આમ અશુભમાંથી નિવૃત્તિથી અને શુભમાં પ્રવૃત્તિથી આ મુમુક્ષુ પુરુષ નિર્ભીય– નીડર હાય છે.
અને તેને ઉચિત કૃત્યમાં હાનિ હાતી નથી, કરવા યાગ્ય એવા ઉચિત ધર્મ કર્ત્તવ્યમાં તે કાંઈ ખામી આવવા દેતા નથી; કારણ કે તે જિનચરણની ઉપાસના અતિશય ભક્તિપૂર્ણાંક કરે છે, મુનિજનની સંગતિ પ્રત્યે અત્યંત પ્રીતિ રાખે છે, યથાઉચિત કત્ત વ્ય શક્તિ સંયમનું પાલન કરે છે, દાન દે છે, શીલ-સદાચાર સેવે છે, તપ આચરે છે, શુભ ભાવના ભાવે છે, અને તેમાં કઇ ખામી-ઊણપ આવવા દેતા નથી. તે સર્વ જગજ્જતુને પેાતાના મિત્ર માનતા હેાઇ, જેમ બને તેમ મન-વચન-કાયાથી અહિંસક રહેવાને પ્રયત્ન કરે છે; હિત મિત ને પ્રીત એવું સત્ય વચન ખેલે છે; પ્રમાણિક અને ન્યાયપ્રિય રહી પરદ્રવ્ય હરવાની કે ચારવાની ઇચ્છાથી પણ દૂર રહે છે; પરસ્ત્રી પ્રત્યે મા-હેનની દૃષ્ટિ રાખી સ્વદારાસ'તેાષી થાય છે, અથવા સર્વથા બ્રહ્મચર્ય ધારણ કરે છે; જેમ બને તેમ આરંભ-પરિગ્રહનું સક્ષેષપણું કરે છે, પરિગ્રહનુ પરિમાણુ—મર્યાદા ઠરાવે છે. તે શુદ્ધ દેવ, શુદ્ધ ગુરુ ને શુદ્ધ ધર્મનું આલંબન લે છે; ખાકી બીજી બધી જ જાલ છેાડી દ્યે છે. તે સર્વ તામસી વૃત્તિઓને ત્યજી ઇ, સાત્ત્વિકી વૃત્તિઓને ભજે છે. દયા, શાંતિ, સમતા, ક્ષમા, સત્ય, ત્યાગ, વૈરાગ્ય,—ઇત્યાદિ સાત્ત્વિક વ્રુત્તિએ આ મુમુક્ષુના ઘટમાં સદાય સુજાગ્રત હાય છે.

I have drunk your essence-alchemy, and with devotion I have enshrined you in my heart, so I feel that my worldly passions have subsided. O Lord! By seeing you, my sorrows and misfortunes have vanished, and I have attained happiness and prosperity. After I have taken a master like you 'on my head', how can even my hair become crooked?"

"He who has made the world, which is like an insurmountable ocean, as easy as a pond, I have taken him as my Lord, I have mingled in worldly affairs... Lord. But now I have found a master like you, my fear of rebirth has been averted... Lord. But now there is no fear, the King of Jinas has come, I have drunk the essence-alchemy... Lord. O Knower of Hearts! Lord, by enshrining you in my heart, my worldly passions have subsided... Lord." - Shri Devchandraji

Thus, this seeker of liberation is fearless and bold, due to his detachment from the inauspicious and his engagement in the auspicious. And he does not suffer any harm in performing the right action, he does not allow any flaw to occur in the right Dharma-duty that is worthy of being done; because he performs the worship of the feet of the Jinas with utmost devotion, he has great affection for the company of the monks, he observes the power of restraint as appropriate, he gives charity, he cultivates good conduct and morality, he practices austerities, he cultivates good thoughts, and he does not allow any flaw or deficiency to occur in them. He considers all beings as his friends, and he strives to remain non-violent in thought, word, and deed as much as possible; he speaks the truth, which is beneficial, moderate, and loving; he remains honest and just, and he stays away from the desire to steal or covet the property of others; he maintains a motherly-like view towards other women, and he becomes content with his own wife, or he completely observes celibacy; he strives to make his possessions and acquisitions appropriate, he sets limits on his possessions. He takes refuge in the pure Dev, the pure Guru, and the pure Dharma; he abandons all other nets. He abandons all dark tendencies and embraces the sattvic tendencies. Compassion, peace, equality, forgiveness, truth, renunciation, detachment - these sattvic tendencies are always alert in the mind of this seeker of liberation.
