________________ ॥२६॥ श्रद्धापूर्वक अपनाया, न ही तत्त्व की जिज्ञासा की, उसका मनुष्यजन्म निरर्थक गया, समझो ||२६|| जिज्ञासा च विवेकश्च ममतानाशकावुभौ । अतस्ताभ्यां निगृह्णीयादेनामध्यात्मवैरिणीम् ॥२७॥ भावार्थ : जिज्ञासा और विवेक ये दोनों ममता को नष्ट करने वाले हैं। इसलिए इन दोनों से अध्यात्मवैरणी ममता का निग्रह करना चाहिए । अध्यात्म की वैरिणी ममता है, यह जहाँ भी घुस जाती है, अध्यात्म परिणति का सफाया कर डालती है । अत: इस (ममता) का निरोध करने के लिए तत्त्वजिज्ञासा तथा शरीर और आत्मा अथवा स्वपरपदार्थ का भेदविज्ञान (विवेक) इन दोनों को अपनाए । इन दोनों के द्वारा ममतारूपी दुश्मन को हृदयरूपी घर से निकाल देना चाहिए; या उसका भलीभांति निग्रह कर देना चाहिए और अध्यात्म में तन्मय बन जाना चाहिए ॥ २७॥ ॥ इति ममता - त्यागाधिकारः ॥ अधिकार आठवां ८५
