भावार्थ : 'यह क्या है?' इस प्रकार की जो तत्त्वान्त के ज्ञान के सम्मुख होने की जिज्ञासु हुई, वही व्यामोह को उत्पन्न नहीं होने देती, तब फिर ममता को स्थिर कैसे रहने देगी? ॥२३॥
प्रियार्थिनः प्रियाप्राप्तिं विना क्वाऽपि यथा रतिः । न तथा तत्त्वजिज्ञासोस्तत्त्वप्राप्तिं विना क्वचित् ॥२४॥
भावार्थ : जैसे प्रेमिका के अभिलाषी कामुक को प्रेमिका के मिले बिना और कहीं भी प्रीति नहीं होती, वैसे ही तत्त्वजिज्ञासु साधक को तत्त्वज्ञान (परमार्थज्ञान) की प्राप्ति के बिना कहीं भी चैन नहीं पड़ता । उसकी रुचि तत्त्वज्ञान के अतिरिक्त किसी भी पदार्थ में नहीं होती ॥ २४ ॥ अत एव हि जिज्ञासां विष्कम्भति ममत्त्वधीः । विचित्राभिनयाक्रान्तः सम्भ्रान्त इव लक्ष्यते ॥ २५ ॥
भावार्थ : इसी कारण ममत्त्वबुद्धि जिज्ञासा को रोक देती है । और तब वह विचित्र प्रकार के अभिनयों से व्याप्त मनुष्य सम्भ्रान्त - सा ( हक्का-बक्का - सा ) दिखाई देता है ||२५|| धृतो योगो, न ममता हता, न समताऽदृता । न च जिज्ञासितं तत्त्वं, गतं जन्म निरर्थकम् ॥२६॥
भावार्थ : जिसने योग (मुनिजीवन ) धारण किया, किन्तु उसकी ममता मरी नहीं, और न उसने समता को
