वने वेश्म धनं दौस्थ्ये तेजो ध्वान्ते जलं मरौ । दुरापमाप्यते धन्यैः कलावध्यात्मवाङ्मयम् ॥१७॥
भावार्थ : जैसे वन में घर, निर्धनता में धन, अन्धकार में दीपक और मरुभूमि में जल की प्राप्ति अतिदुर्लभ है, वैसे ही इस कलियुग में अध्यात्मशास्त्र की प्राप्ति दुर्लभ है, वह किसी विरले ही भाग्यशाली को मिलता है ॥१७॥ वेदाऽन्यशास्त्रवित् क्लेशं रसमध्यात्मशास्त्रवित् । भाग्यभृद् भोगमाप्नोति वहते चंदनं खरः ॥१८॥
भावार्थ : वेद आदि अन्य शास्त्रों का ज्ञाता क्लेश का ही अनुभव करता है, जबकि अध्यात्मशास्त्र का ज्ञाता अनुभवरसामृत का आस्वादन करता है। जैसे गधा तो केवल चन्दन के भार को ही ढोता रहता है, भाग्यशाली पुरुष ही उस चन्दन का उपयोग करता है ॥१८॥ भुजास्फालन-हस्तास्य-विकाराभिनयाः परे । अध्यात्मशास्त्रविज्ञास्तु वदन्त्यविकृतेक्षणाः ॥१९॥
भावार्थ : अन्य शास्त्रों के ज्ञाता जब उपदेश=भाषण देते हैं, तब भुजाएँ जोर से फटकारते हैं तथा मुंह आदि की विकृत चेष्टाओं द्वारा अभिनय करते हैं, परन्तु अध्यात्मशास्त्र के ज्ञाता अन्य अंगों को विकृत करना तो दूर रहा, आँखों को भी मटकाए बिना स्वाभाविक रूप से बोलते हैं ॥१९॥
