सदा यत्र स्थितो द्वेषोल्लेखः स्वप्रतिपन्थिषु । सुखानुभवकालेऽपि तत्र तापहतं मनः ॥६९॥
भावार्थ : जहाँ सुख का अनुभव करने के समय भी निरन्तर अपने शत्रुओं के प्रति द्वेष का चिन्तन (उल्लेख) रहता है, वहाँ उसका मन घर में शान्त बैठा रहने पर भी ताप से आहत (व्यथित) रहता है ॥६९॥ स्कन्धात्स्कन्धान्तरारोपे भारस्येव न तत्त्वतः । अक्षाह्लादेऽपि दुःखस्य संस्कारो विनितर्तते ॥७०॥
भावार्थ : एक स्कन्ध से दूसरे स्कन्ध पर भार रख देने से जैसे भार कम नहीं होता, वैसे ही इन्द्रियों के आनन्द से भी वस्तुतः दुःख के संस्कार नष्ट (निवृत्त) नहीं होते ॥७०॥ सुखं दुःखं च मोहश्च तिस्त्रोऽपि गुणवृत्तयः । विरुद्धा अपि वर्तन्ते दुःखजात्यनतिक्रमात् ॥७१॥
भावार्थ : सुख, दुःख और मोह इन तीनों गुणों की वृत्तियाँ विरुद्ध हैं, तो भी ये तीनों दुःख की जाति का अतिक्रमण (उल्लंघन) नहीं करतीं, इसलिए दुःखरूप ही हैं ॥७१॥ क्रुद्धनागफणाभोगोपमो भोगोद्भवोऽखिलः । विलासश्चित्ररूपोऽपि भयहेतुर्विवेकिनाम् ॥७२॥
भावार्थ : सारे भोगों से उत्पन्न हुआ सुख का अनुभव क्रोध में उफनते हुए सर्प के फन के फैलाव सरीखा है ऐसा २४२
