[ दम्भ-त्याग] दंभो मुक्तिलतावह्निर्दम्भो राहुः क्रियाविधौ । दौर्भाग्यकारणं दंभो, दंभोऽध्यात्मसुखार्गला ॥१॥
भावार्थ : दम्भ मुक्तिरूपी लता को जलाने के लिए अग्नि के समान है, दम्भ क्रियारूपी चन्द्रमा का राहु है, दम्भ दुर्भाग्य का कारण है और दम्भ अध्यात्मसुख की प्राप्ति में अर्गला के समान है ॥१॥ दम्भोज्ञानाद्रिदम्भोलिदम्भः कामानले हविः । व्यसनानां सुहृद्दम्भो, दंभश्चौरो व्रतश्रियः ॥२॥
भावार्थ : दम्भ ज्ञानरूपी पर्वत को भेदन करने के लिए वज्र के समान है, दम्भ कामाग्नि को उत्तेजित करने में हवि= घी के समान है, दम्भ व्यसनों (बुराईयों) का मित्र है, दम्भ व्रतरूपी लक्ष्मी (शोभा) को हरण करने वाला चोर है ॥२॥ दम्भेनव्रतमास्थाय यो वाञ्छति परं पदम् । लोहनावं समारुह्य सोऽब्धेः पारं यियासति ॥३॥
भावार्थ : जो मनुष्य दम्भपूर्वक महाव्रत (मुनिदीक्षा) या अणुव्रत ग्रहण करके परमपद मोक्ष चाहता है, वह ऐसा ही है अधिकार तीसरा
