चरणगोपुरभंगपरः स्फुरत्समयबोधतरूनपि पातयन् । भ्रमति यद्यतिमत्तमनोगजः क्व कुशलं शिवराजपथे तदा ॥७॥
भावार्थ : चारित्ररूपी नगरद्वार (सदर दरवाजे) को तोड़ने में तत्पर और स्फुरणा होते हुए सिद्धान्त के बोधरूपी वृक्षों को उखाड़ता हुआ मदोन्मत्त मनरूपी हाथी जहाँ भ्रमण करता हो, वहाँ मोक्षरूपी राजमार्ग में कुशलता कहाँ से हो? कदापि नहीं हो सकती ॥७॥ व्रततरून् प्रगुणीकुरुते जनो, दहति दुष्टमनोदहनः पुनः । ननु परिश्रम एष विशेषवान् क्व भविता सुगुणो पवनोदये ॥८॥
भावार्थ : योगिजन इधर व्रतरूपी वृक्षों को सिंचन करके तैयार करता है, उधर दुष्टमनरूपी आग उन्हें जला डालती है, तब सद्गुणरूपी उद्यान के लिए किया गया यह परिश्रम कब विशेष फलदायक हो सकता है? ॥८॥ अनिगृहीतमना विदधत्परां न वपुषा वचसा च शुभत्रियाम् । गुणमुपैति विराधनयाऽनया बत दुरन्त भवभ्रममञ्चति ॥९॥
भावार्थ : जिसने मन का निग्रह नहीं किया, ऐसा साधक इस शरीर और वचन से चाहे जितनी शुभ क्रिया कर ले, यह मन की इस विराधना के कारण कुछ भी गुणवत्ता को प्राप्त नहीं करता, बल्कि दुरन्त संसार-परिभ्रमण को ही प्राप्त करता है ॥९॥
