In the chapter on manners the human society has been divided into four sects-Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra-on the basis of the prinoipales of 'Varnashram' and the rhythmical relationship of three 'Gunas'-'Sat', 'Raj' aud' Tam'.According to this classification, everyone has been given the right and privilege to do what he is capable of doing so that the world may go on peacefully and amicably. These four 'Varnas' are all equal and pone is superior or inferior. One who imparts knowledge is respected by all castes. Still all castes are equal and their duties are equally important for them.
The present-day idea of untouchability in 80me quarters is born out of ignorance Of all the sixteen 'Sanskaras', the 'Upnayan' ceremony is the most important. Unless a child has gone through this ceremony he is regarded not worth touching. In the 'Upnayan' ceremony he is taught- afe forest at a: Tacen i. e. O God! Evolve and develop my intelligence. Shu
