A VERSION OF HIR AND RANJHA
Translation.
Sahti and Hir had been friends And with hearty advice she regarded her (and said) - “Let the Baloch meet you and Ranjh& me." For Sahti had a lover to meet, "To-day I am taking Hir away to the fields :" So (Ranjha) said to Sahti : [Says Asa] Singh: The snake of treachery bit Hir. Sahti made all her companions witnesses to what was said.

Translation With lamentation Sahti says to her father Ajja : "Set a snare, my lord, A wicked snake bas bitten the Jatti Hir! Send and call all the soothsayers : There is a jogi staying in the Kala Bagh." Said Sahti:"Call him here, sir." Says Asa Singh ; At Saida's word he would not come at all.
