ON THE JAIN ENDRA-VYAKARANA.

The Government collection of Sanskrit MSS. | स्याध्यायस्य चतुर्थः पादः समाप्तः ।। समाप्तचाय पञ्चमोऽध्याdeposited in the Library of the Deccan College | यः॥ contains the following works of the so-called 2. (a) A paper MS. consisting of 262 leaves, Jainendra-vyakarana:
containing the text of the Satras complete, with 1. (a) A paper MS. consisting of 314 leaves,
a succinct commentary, entitled Sabdárnavaentitled Jainendravydkarana-mahávritti.? It
chandrika, and composed by Somadeva-yati, or contains the text of the Sûtras from I, 1, 1 to
-munisvara (Somámara-uratipa). The MS. IV, 3, 30 (ज्यः = P. VI, 1, 42) together with a
begins : full commentary by Abhayanandi-muni. The
श्रीपूज्यपादममलं गुणनन्दिदेवं MS. begins:
सोमामरव्रतिपपूजितपादयुग्मम् । देवदेवं जिनं नत्वा सर्वसत्त्वाभयप्रदम् ।
सिद्धं समुन्नतपदं वृषभं जिनेन्द्र शब्दशास्त्रस्य सूत्राणां महावृत्तिविरच्यते ॥१॥
सच्छन्दलक्षणमहं विनमामि वीरम् ॥५॥ यच्छब्दलक्षणमसुव्रजपारमन्यै
and it ends : रव्यक्तमुक्तमभिधानविधी दरिद्रः।
इति जैनेन्द्रे व्याकरणे शब्दार्णवचन्द्रिकायां वृत्ती पञ्चमो तत्सर्वलोकहृदयाप्रेयचारुवाक्यै
अध्यायः ॥ ५॥ व्यक्तीकरोत्यभयनन्दिमुनिः समस्तम् ॥२॥ शिष्टाचारपरिपालनार्थमादाविष्टदेवतानमस्कारलक्षणं मङ्ग
श्रीसोमदेवयतिनिर्मितमादधाति लमिदमाहाचार्यः।
या नी: प्रतीतगणनन्दितशब्दबा ।
सेयं सताममलचेतसि विस्फुरन्ती [MS. न्ति || लक्ष्मीरास्यन्तिकी यस्य निरवद्यावभासते ।
वृत्तिः सदा नुतपदा परिवर्तिषीष्ट ॥१॥ देवनन्दितपूजेशे नमस्तस्मै स्वयंभुवे ॥१॥ ।

(6) A paper MS. consisting of 75 leaves, and | Unfortunately this Ms. has been so much containing the same work from IV, 4, 143 injured that it will take some time to arrange (नकाच:=P.VI, 4, 163) to the end of the Jai- | the existing fragments of about 300 leaves in Dendra-grammar, V, 4, 124. The MS. ende : their proper order.
The paper MS. of the Sabddrnavachandriká चतुष्टयं समन्तभद्रस्य ॥ १२ ॥
contains (after the last verse above quoted) a झयो हः (see P. VIII, 4, 62) इत्यादि चतुष्टय स- note, according to which the work was comमन्तभद्राचार्यस्य मतेन भवति नान्येषाम् । तथा चैवोदाहतम् ॥ | posed in A.D. 1205, in the reign of Bhojadeva
