૧૧૭. (તોપણ) વ્રત તથા તપ વગેરેથી થતી સ્વર્ગતી પ્રાપ્તિ ઉત્તમ છે. અંતે ત કરવાથી તરક વગેરેના દુ:ખ સહેવા, યોગ્ય તથી. કારણ કે કષ્ટ સહત કરતાં કરતાં તાપમાં ઊભા રહેવાને બદલે છાયામાં ઊભા રહેવું વધારે સારું છે.
117. Even then, heavenly pleasures achieved as a result of fasting & penance and acceptance of vows is considered desirable/better in as much as non-observance of penance etc. results in miseries of hell which is not worth suffering, since it is better to be under shade than to suffer while standing facing acute sunlight.
११८. खयरामरमणुय-करंजलि - मालाहिं च संथुया विउला ।
चक्कहररायलच्छी, लब्भई बोही ण भव्वणुआ ||१०||
शुभ भाव से विद्याधरों, देवों तथा मनुष्यों की करांजलि - बद्ध स्तुतियों से स्तुत्य चक्रवर्ती सम्राट् की विपुल राज्यलक्ष्मी तक उपलब्ध हो सकती है, किन्तु भव्य जीवों के द्वारा आदरणीय सम्यक् - समाधि प्राप्त नहीं होती ।
૧૧૮. શુભ ભાવથી બે હાથ જોડીને, વિધાધરો, દેવો તથા માતવોએ કરેલી સ્તુતિથી, સ્તુતિ કરનારને ચક્રવર્તી સમ્રાટતી વિશાળ રાજલક્ષ્મી પણ પ્રાપ્ત થઈ શકે છે, પરંતુ ભવ્ય જીવોને આદરણીય એવી સમ્યક્ સમાધિ પ્રાપ્તિ થતી નથી.
118. With good intention, with folded hands, all heavenly beings (deities), humanbeings and special persons called 'Vidyadharas' are praying with enchanting hymns. Such persons are gifted with wealth of a kingdom of an emperor, who has conquered all universal kingdoms, known as 'Chakravarty' but despite all these, it does not result in lasting meditation and worthwhile and honourable achievement of souls capable of liberation.
