४७. कुलरूवजादिबुद्धिसु, तवसुदसीलेसु गारवं किंचि ।
जो णवि कुव्वदि समणो, मद्दवधम्म हवे तस्स ॥५॥ जो कुल, रूप, जाति, ज्ञान, तप, श्रुत और शील का किंचित् भी गर्व नहीं करता, उसके मार्दव-धर्म होता है ।
४७.४ (डो/) पुत, ३५, ति, ज्ञान, तप, श्रूत मने शीतनो
જરા પણ ગર્વ કરતો નથી, તેનાથી માર્દવ-ધર્મ થઈ શકે છે.
47. Any one who is, absolutely (totally) prideless
in respect of his parential family background, (of high culture) beauty, appearance (Strength), Personality, Knowledge & Intelligence, Austerity, Literary Skill, (Wealth & Power) and Character is capable of observing religion in the form of best of tenderness (humility).
४८. जो चिंतेइ ण वंकं, ण कुणदि वंकं ण जंपदे वंकं ।
ण य गोवदि णियदोसं, अज्जव-धम्मो हवे तस्स ॥६॥
जो कुटिल विचार नहीं करता, कुटिल कार्य नहीं करता, कुटिल वचन नहीं बोलता और अपने दोषों को नहीं छिपाता, उसके आर्जव-धर्म होता है ।
૪૮. જે કુટિલ વિચાર નથી કરતો, કુટિલ કાર્ય નથી કરતો, કુટિલ
વચત નથી બોલતો અને પોતાના દોષોતે છુપાવતો નથી, તેનાથી આર્જવ-ધર્મ થાય છે.
48. One who does not indulge in malicious thoughts
curt words &/or crooked action and does not hide/conceal his faults is said to be observing 'Arjava Dharma' i.e. straight forward approach towards religion spirituality.
