૨૭૦. ભગવાન મહાવીર ઉકડૂ વગેરે આસનમાં સ્થિર થઈને ધ્યાન
કરતા હતા. તેઓ ઊંચા-નીચા અને તિસ્કૃલોકમાં થતા પદાર્થોને ધ્યેય તરીકે સ્વીકારતા હતા. એમની દૃષ્ટિ આત્મ-સમાધિ પર સ્થિર હતી. તેઓ સંકલ્પથી મુક્ત હતા.
270. Lord Mahavira with different meditation pos
tures like 'Ookdoo' stature etc. stabilized himself in meditation. He was accepting, as a goal, matter that existed in upper, lower and middle (horizental) world/universe. His sight was steady on spiritual contemplation. He was free from volition or was desireless.
२७१. णातीतमटुं ण य आगमिस्सं, अटुं नियच्छंति तहागया उ ।
विधूतकप्पे एयाणुपस्सी, णिज्झोसइत्ता खवगे महेसी ॥१८॥
तथागत अतीत और भविष्य के अर्थ को नहीं देखते । कल्पनामुक्त महर्षि वर्तमान का अनुपश्यी हो, कर्म-शरीर का शोषण कर उसे क्षीण कर डालता है ।
૨૭૧. તથાગત ભૂત અને ભવિષ્યના અર્થતે જોતા નથી. કલ્પતામુક્ત
મહર્ષિ વર્તમાનતા અનુપસ્થી થઈને, કર્મશરીરનું શોષણ કરી એનો નાશ કરે છે.
271. An ascetic does not visualise meaning of past
& future. A great sage, who is free from any imagination concentrates on present, absorbs karmic body and destroys it ultimately.
