श्री समवसरणाध्ययनं अनुवाद - जो शून्यवाद में विश्वास रखते हैं, उनका कहना है कि आदित्य-सूर्यनउदित होता है और न अस्त होता है । चन्द्रमा न वर्धित होता है और न ह्रसित होता है । पानी नहीं बहता, हवा नहीं चलती, यह समस्त लोक बन्ध्य-असत्य है, अभाव रूप है ।।
टीका - पुनरपि शून्यमताविर्भावनायाह-सर्वशून्यवादिनो ह्यक्रियावादिनः सर्वाध्यक्षामादित्योद्गमनादिकामेव क्रियां तावन्निरुन्धन्तीति दर्शयति-आदित्योहि सर्वजनप्रतीतो जगत्प्रदीप कल्पो दिवसादिकालविभागकारी स एव तावन्न विद्यते, कुतस्तस्योगमनमस्तमयनं वा ? यच्च जाज्वल्यमानं तेजोमण्डलं दृश्यते तद् भ्रान्तमतीनां द्विचन्द्रादिप्रतिमासमृगतृष्णिकाकल्पं वर्ततो । तथा न चन्द्रमा वर्धते शुक्लपक्षे, नाप्यपरपक्षे प्रतिदिनमपहीयते, तथा 'न सलिलानि' उदकानि 'स्पन्दन्ते' पर्वतनिर्झरेभ्यो न स्रवन्ति । तथा वाताः सततगतयो न वान्ति । किं बहुनोक्तेन ?, कृत्स्नोऽप्ययं लोको 'वन्ध्यः' अर्थशून्यो 'नियतो' निश्चित: अभावरूप इतियावत्, सर्वमिदं यदुपलभ्यते तन्मायास्वप्नेन्द्र जालकल्पमिति ॥७॥
टीकार्थ – सूत्रकार सर्वशून्यत्व वाद का सिद्धान्त प्रकट करने हेतु प्रतिपादित करते हैं-सर्वशून्यवादी तथा अक्रियावादी सूर्य के उदगमन-उदय तथा अस्तगमन-अस्त होने की क्रियाएं सत्य प्रत्यक्ष है । सब देखते हैं किन्तु वे उनका भी निषेध करते हैं । शास्त्रकार इसका स्पष्टीकरण करते हुए बतलाते हैं कि सूर्य सब लोगों के लिये प्रत्यक्ष है, सब उसे साक्षात् देखते हैं । वह संसार के लिये प्रदीप के सदृश है |दिवसादि के काल का विभागकारी है-विभाजक हैं किन्तु सर्वशून्यत्ववादी के अनुसार उसका भी अस्तित्त्व नहीं है । तब उसके उद्गमन एवं अस्तगमन की तो बात ही क्या ? जो जाज्वल्यमान-जलता हुआ आकाश में तेजोमंडल दृष्टिगोचर होता है वह भ्रान्तबुद्धियुक्त जनों के लिये दिखाई देता हुआ भी दो चन्द्र तथा मृगतृष्णा आदि की तरह काल्पित है-मिथ्या है । विभ्रान्त पुरुष ऐसा मानते हैं । चन्द्रमा शुक्ल पक्ष में वृद्धि नहीं पाता, कृष्ण पक्ष में घटता नहीं। पर्वतों से निर्झर-झरने गिरते नहीं, बहते नहीं । निरन्तर गतिशील वायु भी चलती नहीं । अधिक क्या कहा जाय, यह समस्त लोक वन्ध्य-अर्थशून्य और निश्चित रूप में अभावात्मक है । इस जगत में जो भी वस्तु उपलब्ध होती है, वह सब माया, स्वप्न और इन्द्रजाल-जादूगर के खेल की तरह असत्-असत्य है।
जहाहि अंधे सह जोतिणावि, रूवाइ णो पस्सति हीणणेत्ते । संतंपि ते एवमकिरिय वाई, किरियं ण पस्संति निरुद्धपन्ना ॥८॥ छाया - यथा ह्यन्धः सह ज्योतिषाऽपि रूपाणि न पश्यति हीननेत्रः ।
सतीमपि ते एवमक्रियावादिनः क्रियां न पश्यन्ति निरुद्धप्रज्ञाः । अनुवाद - जैसे एक नेत्रहीन पुरुष दीपक लिये हुए भी पदार्थों को नहीं देख पाता, उसी तरह जिनके ज्ञान चक्षुओं पर आवरण पड़ा हुआ है ऐसे प्रज्ञाविहीन अक्रियवादी, होती हुई क्रियाओं को भी नहीं देख पाते।
टीका - एतत्परिहर्तुकाम आह-यथा ह्यन्धो-जात्यन्धः पश्चाद्वा 'हीननेत्रः' अपगत चक्षुः 'रूपाणि' घटपटादीनि 'ज्योतिषापि' प्रदीपादिनापि सह वर्तमानो 'न पश्यति' नोपलभते, एवं तेऽप्यक्रियावादिनः सदपि घटघटादिकं वस्तु तक्रियां चास्तित्वादिकां परिस्पन्दादिकां वा (क्रियां) न पश्यन्ति । किमिति ?, यतो निरुद्धाआच्छादिता ज्ञानावरणादिना कर्मणा प्रज्ञा-ज्ञानं येषां ते तथा, तथाहि-आगोपालाङ्गनादिप्रतीतः समस्तान्धकारक्षयकारी
