__ श्री सूत्रकृताङ्ग सूत्रम् अनुवाद - श्री सुधर्मा स्वामी अपने अन्तेवासियों से कहते हैं कि उस मार्ग को ग्रहण कर अनेक पुरुषों ने संसार सागर को पार किया है । वर्तमान में करते हैं और आने वाले समय में भी करते रहेंगे। मैंने भगवान महावीर से वह मार्ग सुना है, मैं उसे कहूंगा । तुम लोग श्रवण करो।
टीका - मार्ग विशेषणायाह-यं मार्ग पूर्वं महापुरुषाचीर्णमव्यभिचारिणमाश्रित्य पूर्वस्मिन्ननादिके काले बहवोऽनन्ताः सत्त्वा अशेषकर्मकचवर विप्रमुक्ता भवौघ-संसारम् 'अताए:'-साम्प्रतमप्येके समग्रसामग्रीकाः संख्येयाः सत्त्वास्तरन्ति, महाविदेहादौ सर्वदा सिद्धिसद्भावाद्वर्तमानत्वं न विरुध्यते, तथाऽनागते च काले अपर्यवसानात्मकेऽनन्ता एव जीवास्तरिष्यन्ति । तदेवं कालत्रयेऽपि संसार समुद्रो तारकं मोक्षगमनैक कारणं प्रशस्तं भावमार्ग मुत्पन्न दिव्यज्ञानैस्तीर्थकद्धिरूपदिष्टं तं चाहं सम्यक श्रुत्वाऽवधार्य च यष्माकं शश्रषणां 'प्रतिवक्ष्यामि' प्रतिपाद सुधर्मस्वामी जम्बूस्वामिनं निश्रीकृत्यान्येषामपि जन्तूनां कथयतीत्येतद्दर्शयितुमाह हे जन्तवोऽभिमुखीभूय तं चारित्रमार्ग मम कथयतः शृणुत यूयं, परमार्तकथनेऽत्यन्तमादरोत्पादनार्थमेवमुपन्यास इति ॥६॥
टीकार्थ - सूत्रकार मार्ग की विशेषता परिज्ञापित करने हेतु कहते हैं-उस मार्ग का महापुरुषों ने आचरण किया है। वे उस पर चले हैं, वह निश्चित रूप से मोक्षप्रद है। उसका अवलम्बन कर अनादि काल से अनन्त जीवों ने कर्ममल से विप्रमुक्त होकर संसार सागर को पार किया है । वर्तमान काल में भी समग्र सामग्री युक्तमोक्षोपयोगी समस्त साधन सम्पन्न संख्यात पुरुष आज भी संसार सागर को पार करते हैं । महाविदेह आदि क्षेत्रों में सदा सिद्धि कर सद्भाव रहता है-मोक्ष प्राप्त होने की स्थिति है । अतएव वर्तमान काल में मोक्ष प्राप्ति की बात कहना सिद्धान्त विरुद्ध नहीं है । अनंत अनांगत भविष्य काल में अनन्त जीव उस मार्ग का अनुसरण कर संसार सागर को तैरते जायेंगे । इस प्रकार तीनों समयों में यह मार्ग संसार सागर से तारक-पार लगाने वाला है-मोक्ष गमन का एक मात्र हेतु है, प्रशस्त भाव मार्ग है । जिन्हें दिव्य ज्ञान-सर्वज्ञत्व उत्पन्न हुआ । उन तीर्थंकरों ने इसे उपदिष्ट किया। उस मार्ग को मैंने भली भांति सुना है । उसकी अवधारणा की है । तुम लोग सुनने की उत्कंठा लिये हुए हो । यह जानकर प्रतिपादित करूंगा । श्री सुधर्मास्वामी जम्बूस्वामी को आश्रित कर समस्त प्राणियों से यह कहते हैं । अतः इसका दिग्दर्शन कराने हेतु सूत्रकार बतलाते हैं-प्राणिवृन्द ! तुम अभिमुख होकर-सावधान होकर उस चारित्र मार्ग का अनुसरण करो जो मैं कह रहा हूँ । परमार्थ कथन मेंपरम तत्व के निरूपण में अत्यन्त आदर उत्पन्न करने हेतु इस प्रकार कहा गया है ।
पुढवीजीवा पुढो सत्ता, आउजीवा तहाऽगणी । वाउजीवा पुढो सत्ता, तणरुक्खा सबीयगा ॥७॥ छाया - पृथिवी जीवाः पृथक् सत्वाः, आपो जीवास्तथाऽग्निः ।
वायु जीवाः पृथक् सत्त्वा स्तृणवृक्षसबीजकाः ॥ अनुवाद - पृथ्वी स्वयं जीव है । पृथ्वी के आश्रय में टिके हुए और भी अनेक जीव हैं । जल और अग्नि जीव हैं तथा वायु के-वायु काय के भी पृथक्-पृथक् जीव है । तिनके, पेड़ तथा बीज भी जीव हैं।
टीका - चारित्रमार्गस्य प्राणातिपात विरमणमूलत्वात्तस्य च तत्परिज्ञानपूर्वकत्वादतो जीवस्वरूपनिरूपणार्थमाहपृथिव्येव पृथिव्याश्रिता वा जीवाः पृथ्वीजीवाः, तेच प्रत्येकशरीरत्वात् 'पृथक् ' प्रत्येकं 'सत्त्वा' जन्तवोऽवगन्तव्याः तथा आपश्च जीवाः, एवमग्निकायाश्च, तथाऽपरे वायुजीवाः, तदेवं चतुर्महाभूतसमाश्रिताः पृथक् सत्त्वाः प्रत्येक

**Translation:**

Sri Sudharma Swami says to his followers: "Many men have crossed the ocean of the world by embracing this path. They do so in the present and will continue to do so in the future. I have heard this path from Lord Mahavira, and I will tell it to you. Listen carefully."

The author of the sutra explains the characteristics of the path: "This path has been followed by great men. They have walked on it, and it is certainly conducive to liberation. By relying on it, countless beings from the beginning of time have been freed from the defilement of karma and crossed the ocean of the world. Even in the present time, there are countless beings who are equipped with all the necessary means for liberation and are crossing the ocean of the world. The existence of Siddhas in Mahavideha and other realms is eternal, and their state of liberation is always present. Therefore, it is not contradictory to speak of liberation in the present time. In the infinite future, countless beings will follow this path and cross the ocean of the world. Thus, this path is the means of liberation from the ocean of the world in all three times. It is the only path to liberation, the path of noble conduct. It was taught by the Tirthankaras, who have attained divine knowledge, omniscience. I have heard this path well and understood it. You are eager to listen, and knowing this, I will explain it. Sri Sudharma Swami, relying on Jambuswami, says this to all beings. Therefore, to make this clear, the author of the sutra says: "Beings, listen attentively to this path of conduct that I am speaking. This discourse is intended to generate the utmost respect for the ultimate truth."

**Translation:**

"The earth itself is a living being. There are many other living beings that dwell on the earth. Water and fire are living beings, and there are separate living beings of the air, those with air bodies. Stalks, trees, and seeds are also living beings."

"Because the path of conduct is based on refraining from harming living beings, and because this requires knowledge of living beings, the author says: "The earth itself is a living being, and those who dwell on the earth are also living beings, earth-beings. Because they have individual bodies, they are to be understood as 'separate beings.' Water is also a living being, and so are those with fire bodies. And there are other air-beings. Thus, there are separate beings who dwell on the four great elements."
