श्री सूत्रकृताङ्गसूत्रम् । वा 'पापानि' पापरुपाण्यनुष्ठानानि 'अध्यात्मना' सम्यग्धर्मध्यानादिभावनया 'समाहरेत्' उपसंहरेत्, मरणकाले चोपस्थिते सम्यक् संलेखनया संलिखितकायः पण्डितमरणेनात्मानं समाहरेदिति ॥१६॥ संहरणप्रकारमाह -
टीकार्थ - इस गाथा में 'यथा' शब्द उदाहरण प्रदर्शित करने हेतु आया है । जैसे एक कच्छप अपनी गर्दन आदि अंगों को अपनी देह में समाहत कर लेता है-छिपा लेता है, व्यापार शून्य कर देता है, उसी तरह मेधावी, मर्यादाशील, सद् असद् विवेक शील साधक अपने पापमूलक अनुष्ठानों को अध्यात्म रत होता हुआ त्याग दे, तथा मृत्यु का समय आने पर संलेखना द्वारा अपनी देह को शुद्ध बनाकर पंडितमरणपूर्वक उसे त्याग
दे ।
साहरे हत्थपाए य, मणं पंचेंदियाणि य । पावकं च परीणामं, भासादोसं च तारिसं ॥१७॥ छाया - संहरेद्धस्तपादञ्च, मनः पञ्चेन्द्रियाणिच ।
पापकञ्च परिणाम, भाषादोषञ्च तादृशम् ॥ अनुवाद - साधु अपने हाथ, पैर, मन तथा पांचों इन्द्रियों को संहत रखे-नियन्त्रित रखे । उनको विषयों से निवृत्त रखे । वह पापपूर्ण परिणाम-भाव मन में न आने दे तथा भाषा विषयक दोषों का भी परिवर्जन करे।
टीका - पादपोपगमाने इङ्गिनीमरणे भक्तपरिज्ञायां शेषकाले वा कूर्मवद्धस्तौ पादौ च 'संहरेद्'व्यापारान्निवर्तयेत्, तथा 'मन:' अन्त:करणं तन्वाकुशलव्यापारेभ्यो निवर्तयेत् तथा शब्दादि विषयेभ्योऽनुकूलेभ्योऽरक्त द्विष्टतया श्रोत्रेन्द्रियादीनि पञ्चापीन्द्रियाणि च शब्दः समुच्चये तथा पापकं परिणाममैहिकामुष्मिकाशंसारूपं संहरेदित्येवं भाषादोषं चतादृशं' पापरूपं संहरेत, मनोवाक्कायगुप्तः सन दर्लभं सत्संयममवाप्य पण्डितमरणं वाऽशेषकर्मक्षयार्थं सम्यगनुपालयेदिति ॥१२७॥
___टीकार्थ - कटे हुए वृक्ष की ज्यों चेष्टा रहित होकर सेवा तथा अन्नपान के त्याग रूप अनान में एवं इंगितमरण-मर्यादित क्षेत्र में सेवा के अपवाद के साथ, अन्नजल त्याग रूप अनशन में, शेषकाल में अपने हाथ पैरों को कच्छप की ज्यों संकुचित करे, अर्थात् उन द्वारा प्राणियों के लिए दुःखप्रद व्यापार-क्रियादि न करे, एवं मन को अकुशल व्यापारों-दुःसंकल्पों से निवृत्त करे । अनुकूल एवं प्रतिकूल शब्द आदि विषयों में रक्तता-अनुराग भाव, द्विष्टता-द्वैष भाव छोड़कर अपनी श्रौत्रेन्द्रिय आदि पाँचों इन्द्रियों को संकुचित करे । यहां 'च' शब्द समुच्चय के अर्थ में आया है । वह ऐहिक और आभुष्मिक आशंसा-इस लोक और परलोक में सुख पाने की कामना के पापमय। परिणाम को एवं पापपूर्ण भाषा दोष का परिवर्जन करे । साधु मन-वचन और काय से गुप्त, पापनिवृत्त दुर्लभ सत् संयम में समवस्थित रहता हुआ कर्मक्षय हेतु पंडित मरण की अनुपालना करे, प्रतीक्षा करे ।
