श्री सूत्रकृताङ्ग सूत्रम् हैं । वह पुरुष कौन है, जिसने कुगति में पतित होते प्राणी को धारण करने में, सहारा देने में, समर्थ, एकान्त हितप्रद अनन्यसदृश-अनुपम धर्म का, पदार्थ के यथार्थ स्वरूप का निश्चित रूप में या समभाव में निरूपण किया है।
कहं च णाणं कह दंसणं से, सीलं कहं नायसुतस्स आसी ? । जाणासि णं भिक्खू जहातहेणं, अहासुतं बूहि जहा णिसंतं ॥२॥ छाया - कथञ्च ज्ञानं कथं दर्शनं तस्य, शीलं कथं ज्ञातपुत्रस्य आसीत् ।
जानासि भिक्षो ! याथातथ्येन, यथाश्रुतं ब्रूहि यथा निशान्तम् ॥ अनुवाद - ज्ञातवंशीय भगवान महावीर का ज्ञान दर्शन और चारित्र कैसा था ? मुनिवर्य आपको यह ज्ञात है । जैसा आपने श्रवण किया, देखा एवं निश्चय किया वह हमें बतलाये ।
टीका - 'कथं' केन प्रकारेण भगवान् ज्ञानमवाप्तवान् ?, किम्भूतं वातस्य भगवतो ज्ञान-विशेषावबोधकं ?, किम्भूतं 'से' तस्य 'दर्शनं' सामान्यार्थपरिच्छेदकं ? 'शीलं च' यमनियमरूपं कीदृक् ? ज्ञाताः -क्षत्रियास्तेषां 'पुत्रो' भगवान् वीरवर्धमानस्वामी तस्य 'असीद्' अभूदिति, यदेतन्मया पृष्टं तत् “भिक्षो !' सुधर्मस्वामिन् याथातथ्येन त्वं 'जानीषे' सम्यगवगच्छसि 'णम्' इति वाक्यालङ्कारे तदेतत्सर्वं यथाश्रुतं त्वया श्रुत्वा च यथा 'निशान्त' मित्यवधारितं यथा दृष्टं तथा सर्वं 'ब्रूहि' आचक्ष्वेति ॥२॥ स एवं पृष्ठः सुधर्मस्वामी श्री मन्महावीरवर्धमानस्वामिगुणान् कथयितुमाह -
___टीकार्थ - प्रभु महावीर स्वामी के गुणों की जानकारी हेतु प्रश्न करते हुए कहते हैं कि उन्होंने किस प्रकार ज्ञान प्राप्त किया, अथवा उनका ज्ञान-विशिष्ट अर्थ का प्रकाशक बोध कैसा था, तथा उनका सामान्य अर्थ का निश्चायक दर्शन कैसा था. यमनियम परिपालन के रूप में उनका शील कैसा था. जातक्षत्रिय पत्रक्षत्रिय कुलोत्पन्न भगवान महावीर के ये सब गुण कैसे थे, प्रभुवर सुधर्मा स्वामी ! मैंने जो प्रश्न किया है, वे सब आप भली भाँति जानते हैं । यहाँ णं शब्द वाक्यालंकार के अर्थ में आया है । तदनुसार जैसा आपने सुना है, श्रवण कर जो निश्चय किया है, जैसा देखा है-साक्षात्कार किया है, वह सब मुझे बतलाये ।
खेयन्नए से कुसलासुपन्ने (ब्लेमहेसी), अणंतनाणी य अणंतदंसी । जंस सिणो चक्खुपहे ठियस्स, जाणाहि धम्मं च धिइं च पेहि ॥३॥ छाया - खेदज्ञः सकुशल आशुप्रज्ञ, अनन्तज्ञानी चानन्तदर्शी ।
यशस्विनश्चक्षुपथे स्थितस्य, जानासि धर्मञ्च धृतिञ्च प्रेक्षस्व ॥ अनुवाद - श्री सुधर्मास्वामी जम्बूस्वामी आदि अपने अंते वासियों से कहते हैं कि-भगवान महावीर स्वामी खेदज्ञ-संसार के सभी जीवों का दुःख जानने वाले थे-अहिंसा मर्मज्ञ थे, कुशल-अष्टविध कर्मों का नाश करने वाले थे, आशुप्रज्ञ सदैव, सर्वत्र उपयोग युक्त थे, अनन्त ज्ञान और अनन्त दर्शन के धनी थे । यशस्वी तथा जगत के लोचन पथ में विद्यमान थे । जगत के चक्षु रूप थे । उन भगवान महावीर द्वारा प्रतिपादित धर्म को तुम जानो और धीरता-मानसिक स्थिरता के साथ विचारो ।

Translation: Sri Sudharma Swami, Jambuswami, and others say to their followers: The Lord Mahavira knew the suffering of all beings in the world - he knew the essence of non-violence. He was skilled in the destruction of the eight karmas. He was always wise and useful everywhere. He was the possessor of infinite knowledge and infinite vision. He was glorious and stood in the path of the eyes of the world. He was the eyes of the world. Know the Dharma taught by the Lord Mahavira and contemplate it with steadfastness - mental stability.
