__श्री सूत्रकृताङ्ग सूत्रम् किये हुये निधत्त एवं निकाचित अवस्था युक्त कर्मों द्वारा प्राप्त हुआ है । नरक की ओर विशेषता बतलाते हुये कहते हैं कि वह अतीव दुःखरूप है, स्वभाव से ही कष्टप्रद है । नरकपाल इस प्रकार के नरक स्थान में विद्यमान प्राणियों के शरीर को तोड़ मरोड़ कर बेड़ी आदि के बन्धन में डालकर तथा उनके मस्तिष्क में छेदकर उन्हें कष्ट देते हैं । वे उनके अंगों को चमड़े की ज्यों फैलाकर उनमें कीलें ठोंकते हैं।
छिंदंति बालस्स खुरेण नक्कं, उद्वेवि छिंदंति दुवेवि कण्णे । जिब्भं विणिक्कस्स विहत्थिमित्तं, तिक्खाहिं सूलाहिऽभिता वयंति ॥२२॥ छाया - छिन्दन्ति बालस्य क्षुरेण नासिका मोष्ण च छिदन्ति द्वावपि कौँ ।
जिह्वां विनिष्कास्य वितस्तिमात्रां तीक्ष्णाभिः शूलाभिरभितापयन्ति ॥ अनुवाद - नरकपाल अज्ञानी नारकीय जीवों का नाक, होंठ, दोनों कान तेज उस्तरे द्वारा काट देते हैं । उनकी जीभ को मुँह से एक बिलात बाहर खींच कर उसमें तीक्ष्ण शूल चूभो देते हैं, उनको इस प्रकार
पीड़ा देते हैं
टीका - ते परमाधार्मिकः पूर्वदुश्चरितानि स्मरयित्वा 'बालस्य' अज्ञस्यनिर्विवेकस्य प्रायशः सर्वदा वेदनासमुद्घातोपगतस्य क्षुरप्रेण नासिकांछिन्दन्ति तथौष्ठावपि द्वावपि कौँ छिन्दन्ति, तथा मद्यमांस रसाभिलिप्सोम॒षाभाषिणोजिह्वां वितस्तिमात्रामाक्षिप्य तीक्ष्णाभिः शूलाभिः 'अभितापयन्ति' अपनयन्ति इति ॥२२॥ तथा -
टीकार्थ - वे परमाधामीदेव सदैव पीड़ायुक्त ज्ञान शून्य नारकीय जीवों को उन द्वारा पूर्वजन्म में किये गये पापों को याद दिलाकर उस्तरे से उनके नाक काट लेते हैं और उनके होंठ तथा दोनों कान भी काट लेते हैं । वे मदिरा, माँस और रस के लोलुप, असत्य भाषी उन नारकीय जीवों की जीभ को मुँह से एक बिलात बाहर निकालकर तीक्ष्ण शूल द्वारा वेध डालते हैं, उन्हें पीड़ित करते हैं।
ते तिप्पमाणा तलसंपुडंव, राइंदियं तत्थ 'थणंति बाला । गलंति ते सोणिअपूयमंसं, पजोइया खारपइद्धियंगा ॥२३॥ छाया - ते तिप्यमाना स्तालसंपुटाइव रात्रिंदिवं तत्र स्तनन्ति बालाः ।
गलन्ति ते शोणितपूयमासं प्रद्योतिताः क्षारप्रदिग्धाङ्गा ॥ अनुवाद - वे ज्ञानशून्य नारकीय प्राणी जिनके शरीर के अंगों से खून टपकता रहता है, ताड़ के सूखे पत्तों की तरह रात-दिन शब्द करते रहते हैं । उनको आग में दग्ध कर उनके अंगों में क्षार लगा दिया जाता है इसलिए जिससे उनके घावों से खून, मवाद और मांस झरता रहता है ।
