श्री सूत्रकृताङ्ग सूत्रम् में संलग्न हुआ । एक उच्च कोटि के विद्वान् के साथ कार्य करने में बहुत कुछ सीखने को मिलता है, मैंने उनके साथ अनुवाद में जुटे रहकर भाषा शैली, प्रस्तुतिकरण आदि के संदर्भ में अनेक नूतन उपलब्धियाँ अर्जित की । मेरे मन में यह नवोत्साह भी उदित हुआ कि मैं यथासंभव कतिपय अन्य आगमों की टीकाओं का अनुवाद करने विनम्र प्रयास करूं । मैं मानता हूँ-इससे मुझे अपने ज्ञान को परिमार्जित करने का, मनन, चिंतन एवं अनुशीलन करने का सुन्दर अवसर प्राप्त होगा, जो साधु जीवन के लिए एक वरदान है । श्रुत एवं चारित्र के शाश्वत समाराधन में यह जीवन लग जाए, इससे बड़ा लाभ एक निर्ग्रन्थ मुनि को और क्या हो सकता है।
जैसा कि प्रस्तावना में डॉ. शास्त्री जी ने व्यक्त किया है, पाठक, स्वाध्यायीगण एवं विद्यार्थीवृन्द मूल के साथ इस अनुवाद का अध्ययन कर लाभान्वित होंगे, ऐसी आशा है ।
आगम की टीका का अनुवाद करते समय पूर्ण सावधानी रखी गई है कि आगम एवं टीकाकार के भाव सुरक्षित रहें, फिर भी यदि अल्पज्ञता के कारण कुछ कमी रह गई हो तो अनन्त सिद्धों की साक्षी से मिच्छामि दुक्कड़म् देते हुए पाठकों से अपेक्षा हैं कि वे कमी की ओर हमें सूचित करें ताकि संशोधन किया जा सके ।
