छन्दोदर्शनम
दशधा दशविधेन विभूतियोगेन आ समन्तात् सर्वतः ततान स्वं ज्योतिः विस्तारयामास । यश्च पुनः दशसु दिक्षु चतस्रो दिश:, चतस्रः प्रदिशः, ऊर्ध्वा चाधरा मध्यं च इति प्रसिद्धासु अन्तः प्रभ्राजते, मध्ये विद्युद्रपेण प्रतिष्ठित: सन् सूक्ष्मरूपेण अव्यक्तात्मना पूर्णः स्वयं राजते, सः मरुतां पिता रुद्रः मध्यमः मध्यमभुवनाध्यक्षः, अत एव सः एकादशात्मेति श्रूयते, “ ये देवासो दिव्येकादश स्थ" इति (ऋ. मं. १-१३९-११) स च रुद्रः विभूतियोगेन त्रेधा विततेन तत्त्वेन भौवनेन त्रिषु भुवनेषु एकादशात्मकः सिद्धः इति ||
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION He is hidden in mid-air, the best part of the sky, the mid-most point of the universe, as lightning. He is one only, but becomes ten-fold by his power and pervades the whole universe, shines and fills the ten directions. The eight directions, the above, the below and the middle also, are filled by him though he is invisible. He is the father of Maruts. He is the Lord of mid-air. Therefore he is known as 'Eleven-Souled' (Ekādaśātmā). Cf. “Which ye Gods are eleven in the Sky." (Rg. I-139-11). That Rudra exists in eleven forms in all three worlds by his power and he is known as such (Ekadasatma).
तृतीया ऋक् | यो अन्तीभिरमृतश्चितो मानां यः पशूनां पतिरात्मा चाऽमृतानाम् ॥ यः प्राणैर्दशभिश्चतते स्वप्रसूतै
मरुतां स पिता रुद्रो मध्यमः ॥३॥ पदपाठः- यः । अन्तरिति । धीभिः । अमृतः । चितः । मर्त्यानां ।
यः। पशूनौ । पतिः। आत्मा । च । अमृतानाम् ॥ यः। घणैः । दशऽभिः । चेतते । स्वप्रऽसूतैः ।
मरुतौ । सः । पिता । रुद्रः । मध्यमः ॥ He who is recognised by seers and knowers as immortal and as Atma, as the master of man, beasts and gods, and who animates all and everything with his ten präņas, he lives in Maruts as their father. He is Rudra who dwells in mid-air.
अन्वयभाष्यम्। यः सर्वषां मर्त्यानां मरणशीलानां सचेतनानां मानवानां अचेतनानां भूतजातानां, तथा अमृतानां अमरणधर्मणां चेतनात्मनां देवानां, तथा पशूनां प्राणभृतां सर्वेषामपि
