जन्तूनां ब्रह्मादिस्थावरान्तानां अन्तः चितः चैतन्यस्वरुपेण सगृहीतः प्रतिष्ठितः इति यावत्, सः परोक्षसत्त्वसिद्धः सर्वेषां पतिः अध्यक्षः, अमृतः क्षय-विकार-मरणादिविरहितः आत्मा अन्तर्यामीति यावत् | यश्च स्वप्रसते: स्वेन चेतनेन आत्मना प्रेरितैः दशभिः प्राणैः ज्ञानेन्द्रिय - कर्मेन्द्रियरूपैः चेतते स्वप्राण - शक्तियुक्तैः चैतन्यज्योति किरणैः अन्तर्बहिश्च सर्वत्रापि सञ्चेष्टते, सः मरुतां पिता मध्यमलोकाधिपतिः रुद्रः विश्वेषामपि प्रभवति ईशानसत्त्वेन इति ||
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
He is recognised as being within all and everybody-the mortals, immortals and other creatures, as an animator. He is the master of all. He is deathless and he is Ātmā, the indweller. He quickens all and everything everywhere with the ten prāņas, the five inner Jñanendriyas and the five outer senses, Karmendriyas. The ten Präņas are inspired by his own life-force and are rays of his own animating light. He is the force which works everywhere in and out. He is the father of Maruts. He is Rudra, the lord of mid-air.
चतुर्थी ऋक् । यो विद्युता ज्योतिरात्माऽऽततान योऽन्तर्धा दशधा प्रति प्राणैः समैः ॥ रुद्राणीभिः सह देवताभिः सधीभि
मरुतां स पिता रुद्रो मध्यमः ॥ ४ ॥ पदपाठः- - यः। विऽद्यता । ज्योतिःऽआत्मा । आऽततान ।
यः । अन्तःऽधा । दशऽधा । प्रति । प्राणैः। समैः ॥ रुद्राणीभिः । सह । देवताभिः । सऽधीभिः । मरुती । सः ! पिता । रुद्रः । मध्यमः॥
He is Ātmā, the inner light who pervades in the form of lightning. He shines within as tenfold prānas which are equal to one another. They are his own forces-Rudränis-who are accompanied by deites and by the power of intellects. He is the father of Maruts. Rudra is the dweller in mid-air.
अन्वयभाष्यम्। यः विद्यता स्वशक्त्या मध्यमया स्वयं ज्योतिरात्मैव सन् सर्वत्रापि प्रति अतते व्याप्नोति, यश्च अन्तर्धा सर्वान्तरेऽपि दशधा दशविधेन विततैः समैः समानरूपैः सर्वैः प्राणैः रुद्राणीभि:
