अयम् । जातवेदाः । पुरु॑षः । अन्तरितिं'। अग्निः ।
मन॑सा | आधे । सोमे॑न । अन्नेन । भूम्ना ॥

अयम् । वैश्वानरः । पचति । अन्न॑म् । अन्तरिति॑ ।
प्रत्यङ् । ज्ञप्तिऽसत् । अभिऽचष्टे । चेत॑सा ।

He is the Purusha knowing everything. He is the inner fire with the power of the mind feeding on soma, the essence of divine food. He is the Vaiśvānara, the inner fire which digests all food. With his sight turned inward, he is capable of seeing and knowing everything by his powers of intelligence.
अन्वयभाष्यम् ।
अयं सर्वान्तर: आत्मा जातवेदाः विश्ववेत्ता तथा विश्वसत्तात्मकः पुरुषसत्त्वः अन्तः शरीरे अभ्यन्तरे जाठरः अग्निः सन् प्रतितिष्ठति । तथा शरीरेऽन्तर्हितः सन् मनसा अन्तःकरणेन अधि तदधिष्ठितेन सोमेन दिव्येन रसात्मना भूम्ना भूमिसत्त्वेन व्यापकेन अन्नेन भोज्येन प्राणसञ्जीवनीयेन युज्यते इति अर्थात् लभ्यते, सोऽयं वैश्वानरः सर्वनरशरीरसम्बद्धः सचेतनः सिद्धः आत्मरूपः ज्योतिर्मयः अग्निः आन्तर्यः सन् अन्तः शरीरे अन्नं भुक्तं भोग्यं च पचति भोजनार्थं अन्नं परिपाकमुखेन रसादिभावाय प्रेरयति प्रणयतीति यावत् ॥
अत्र स्मार्तं वचनमुदाहरणम् - "अहं वैश्वानरो भूत्वा प्राणिनां देहमाश्रितः । प्राणापानसमायुक्तः पचाम्यन्नं चतुर्विधम् " इति । सोऽयं प्रत्यङ् आत्मा इप्तिसत् ज्ञान-भावनादिसत्त्वः अप्रमादादिसद्वृत्तिकः स्फूर्ति - जागृतिसंस्थः चेतसा अन्तःकरणेन अभिचष्ठे सर्वतः विपश्यति प्रज्ञानेत्रेण सर्वं प्रत्यक्षीकरोति, आत्मन एवान्तरनुभावायेति । अस्मिन्नर्थे ऋमन्त्रवर्णो भवति ' इतो जातो विश्वमिदं विचष्टे वैश्वानरो यतते सूर्येण " इति, एकः सुपर्णः स समुद्रमाविवेश स इदं विश्वं भुवनं विचष्टे” (ऋ. मं. १०-११४-४) इति च ॥

COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
This Atma who is in all, knows all and everything and contains all in himself. He is the Purusha, the person. Within the bodies of all, he is the fire in the stomach (jathara agni). He is one with the internal instruments ( antah-karana) and its presiding deity Soma. This Vaiśvanara ( inner fire ) in the bodies of all is full of energy. He is the very soul. He is the internal bright Agni. Residing in the body, he digests all food. This means that it is he who dwells in us and inspires us. Cf.: "I am in the bodies of all living
