छन्दोदर्शनम् पदपाठः- यः । वा । सम्ऽवित् । यः । ऊम् इति। सम्ऽवित्ते । विश्वम् ।
सवित्तमः । यः । आस्ति । सम्ऽविदाम् । पतिः॥ सम्ऽवित्तये । यः । वेदयते । वेदम् ।
इन्द्रम् । एव । तम् । वृणे । शम् । गमध्ये ॥ Indra is certainly consciousness. He knows the universe thoroughly. He is the most learned of all. He is the lord of the learned. He makes one know the Veda for imparting knowledge. Only Indra, I seek for peace and happiness.
अन्वयभाष्यम् । यः असौ प्रसिद्धः इश्वरः इन्द्रः इति, तथा संवित् सम्यग्ज्ञानस्वरूपः यः विश्वं एतत् सर्वं जगत् संवित्ते सम्यक् पूर्णतया जानाति सर्वज्ञः इति यावत् ॥ यश्च संवित्तमः सम्यगज्ञानानां तज्ज्ञानवतामपि उत्तमः, संविदां सर्वविद्यानां विदुषां च अधिपतिः सन् प्रभवति || यश्च पुनः संवित्तये ज्ञानोदयाय वेदं स्वं दिव्यं ज्ञान तथा ज्ञानप्रदं छन्दोमयं ऋगादिवेदं च वेदयते ज्ञापयति स्वेन वेदवाङ्मुखेन प्रतिप्रबोधयति च, तं परमं पुरुषं इन्द्रमेव शं ज्ञानादिरसशान्तिमधिगन्तुं वृणे सर्वविद्यधीश्वरं समाश्रये शरणं व्रजामीति ||
COMMENTARY_SUMMARY TRANSLATION He, who is well-known as īśvara, is Samvit, the very stuff of knowledge. He knows the whole universe in all details, as an Omniscient Being. He is the best of all knowledge and the wisest of all the wise ones. He is the lord of all arts and learning and of all learned men. He reminds all of their power to know. He conveys to them the superhuman knowledge about himself and about the Veda, which is in the form of metrical Rgveda. Veda imparts all knowledge. He awakens the intelligence of all through Vedic literature. Indra is the Supreme Person. To get Sama which means Jnana, bliss and peace, I resort only to Indra who is the lord of all learning.
दशमी ऋक। यो वीरान् वीरयतीह वीर्येषु यो वीरेषु प्रविष्टः प्रवीर्येण ॥ वीराणां यो वीरवत्तमः पतिरिन्द्रमेव तं वृणे शङ् गमध्यै ॥ १० ॥
