वेदेन सः ब्रह्मणस्पतिः स्वं निजं सत्त्वं सत्तात्मकं सामर्थ्य शक्तितत्त्वं आन्तयं प्रत्यक्ष सरूपं अन्वभवत् अन्तः सम्भावयामास तस्मात् सः परः ब्रह्मणस्पतिः परमः पुरुषः वाचा तया परया सह तादात्म्येन संहितः " नेमसमात्मा " " नेम इत्यर्धे” अर्धसमात्मा समानार्धात्मकः स्वयं नित्यसिद्धोऽस्तीति ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION Oh Brahmanaspati ! with your power of expression and being absorbed in yourself, you performed tapas, silently. Thus you created this universe full of name and form. It was in you like a subtle seed in the form of energy and you brought it out. By visualising His own power of omnifariousness through knowledge, delight and mantras, Brahmaṇaspati enjoyed His own power in the concrete form. Brahmaṇaspati is Purusha the Supreme. 'Nema' means half. So, He is the other half-soul of total being and is one with Vak and is ever-present everywhere.
द्वितीया ऋक् । सरस्वती त्वं छन्दस्वती ब्रह्म सती ब्रह्मणे परस्मै सुधिताऽऽत्मनेऽन्तः ॥ स्वात्म्यं प्रत्यृता सा छन्दसा रसैन
नेमसमात्मा ब्रह्मणस्पतिना बभौ ॥ २ ॥ पदपाठ :- सरस्वती । त्वम् । छन्दस्वती । ब्रह्म । सती ।
ब्रह्मणे । परस्मै । सुऽर्धिता । आत्मने । अन्तरिति ।। सुऽआत्म्यम् । प्रति। ऋता । सा । छन्दसा । रसैन ।
नेमसमाऽआत्मा । ब्रह्मणः । पर्तना । बभौ ॥ Sarasvati, you are Brahma in the form of metres. You conscerate yourself to Brahma the Supreme and the inner soul Chetanåtmà ). She is full of love and delight and is one with Brahmanaspati by being in tune with Him. She is the other half-soul with Brahmanaspati.
अन्वयभाष्यम्। हे भगवति ! त्वं सरस्वती स्वयं संविदानन्दादिरससत्त्वपूर्णा छन्दस्वती प्रेम-स्वरादिसत्त्वयुक्ता तादृशछन्दोनिबन्धनसिद्धा साक्षाद् ब्रह्मैव सती परस्मै ब्रह्मणे परब्रह्मार्थं चितेआत्मने चेतनाय अन्तरात्मने-आत्मार्थ धिता हिता धृता-अन्तःसन्धीयसे इति तदर्थः ॥
