Oh Sarasvati! being the essence of all animation, you pervade all space externally. On account of your blowing fiercely, you are with the Marut ( the god of winds ). You are Vak, the mother of the universe and the measure of Atman.

अन्वयभाष्यम् |
हे सरस्वति ! त्वं चित्त्या मात्रया निजया चेतन्यमात्रया व्योमन् व्योमनि आकाशे बहिर्धा बाह्यमर्यादया समा समाना ओता व्याप्ता, ऊर्जा बलेन सह पवमाना प्रवहन्ती तत्रैव पवमानेन प्रवहता मरुता प्राणसत्त्वेन समं चिता चेतनया परीता परितः सर्वतो व्याप्ता, तस्मात् सा वागेव विदा योगात् विश्वस्य जगतः माता परमा, तथा आत्मनश्च प्रमात्री भवतीति ॥
COMMENTARY-SUMMARY TRANSLATION
Oh Sarasvati! by your being the essence of all animation, externally you pervade all space. By blowing strongly you are equal to Marut, the presiding deity of wind and the vital airs. You are Vak, the mother of the universe and the measure of Atman.
पञ्चमी ऋक् |
सर॑स्व॒ति॒ त्वं मात्र॑या॒ तेज॑सो वाचः सम्भासाऽऽदित्येनार्हता यद् रूपेण ||
उत्सृष्टि॒ तेज॒ः स्वमा॑ वि॒वेश॑ वा॒चा वात् विदा माता विश्व॑स्यात्मनः परो ॥ ५ ॥ पदपाठ :- सरस्वति । त्त्रम् । मात्र॑या । तेज॑सः । वाचः ।
सम् । भासा । आदि॒त्येनं । आऽहि॑ता । यत् । रूपेण ॥ उत्ऽसृष्टं । तेजः॑ । स्वम् । आऽविवेश । वाचा ।
वाक् । विदा | माता | विश्वस्य । आत्मनः । परा॑ ॥
Oh Sarasvati! on account of the power of light and speech, you are one with the sun. The light which burst forth in the form of speech pervaded the universe. Vāk, on account of intelligence, is the mother of the universe and the evidence of Atman.
