The persons who have experience of that subject can only know how much the venerable sage would have exerted in translating the volume 'Lalitavistata, how much he would have tested his intellect in introducing the high-levelled Sanskrit into Gujarati and how much pain he would have taken in preparing different sorts of notes and critical explanations in order to elucidate the significance of the original volume.
Though the sage have spared no pain in fulfilling his job, we are forced to state that the one hundredth part of the substance of the original volume could not have been translated on proper lines. Instead of believing it to be the deficiency of the translator, we shall have to agree that the volume is so imcomprehensible that even if the most proficient erudite personalities language, there will have been found some or other shorcoming.
In our existing group of sages, there is an increase auspicion tendency of studying, reading and contemplating over such volumes of deep subject. It is, verily a good sign.
Not only such a version of this volume but a good number of version by different scholers also should have been undertaken. Thus as a result of much exertion, let us look forward to such a time when each and every followers of Jainism while performing the rite of Chaityaradndana and while chanting the aphorisms of the same gets throughly absorbed in its meaning.
In order to create such situation, the edition of the aphorisms regarding 'Chaityavandana' ought to be translated in the easiest style comprehensible by all - old as well as by the young ambition of seeing such an edition published in the near future.
Today we should admit that we would seldom find a very few souls knowing the sense and significance of the 'Chiatryavandana' rite from among those thousands and million of the followers of Jainism always performing the rite methodically by reciting the aphorism thrice. In the early morning, at noon and during the dusk.
In this situation, if a change is expected, the number of readers of this volume will have to be increased. This version provides such readers with a useful publication unobtainable till today.
We conclude here with the hope that the desirous souls welcoming this version will take its full advantage so that the exertion of the translator and painstaking efforts of the published may be fulfilled.
