मूलाचारउद्वेगमरणं जातिमरणं निरयेषु वेदनाश्च । एतानि संसरन् पंडितमरणं अनुमरिष्यामि ॥ ७६ ॥
अर्थ–इष्टके वियोगसे अनिष्टके संयोगसे किसी भयसे हुआ मरण, उत्पन्न हुए बालकका मरण, गर्भ में तिष्ठे हुएका मरण,
और नरककी तीव्रवेदनाको याद करता हुआ अब मैं पंडित मरणकर प्राण त्याग करूंगा ॥ ७६ ॥ ___ अब कोई पूछे कि मरणके भेदोंमें पंडित मरण अच्छा क्यों है उसे कहते हैंएकं पंडिदमरणं छिंददि जादीसदाणि बहुगाणि । तं मरणं मरिदव्वं जेण मदं सुम्मदं होदि ॥७७॥
एकं पंडितमरणं छिनत्ति जातिशतानि बहूनि । तन्मरणं मर्तव्यं येन मृतं सुमृतं भवति ।। ७७॥
अर्थ-एक ही पंडित मरण बहुत जन्मोंके सैंकड़ों को छेद देता है इसलिये उस पंडित मरणसे ही मरना, जिससे वह मरण प्रशंसा करनेयोग्य है ॥ अर्थात् ऐसा · मरण करना कि जिससे फिर जन्म लेना न पड़े ।। ७७ ॥
आगे यदि संन्यासके समय पीड़ा क्षुधादिक उपजे तो ऐसा करना यह कहते हैं;जइ उप्पजइ दुःखं तो दहव्वो सभावदो णिरये । कदमं मए ण पत्तं संसारे संसरंतेण ॥ ७८॥
यदि उत्पद्यते दुःखं ततो द्रष्टव्यः स्वभावतो नरके । कतमत् मया न प्राप्तं संसारे संसरता ॥ ७८ ॥ अर्थ-जो संन्यासके समय क्षुधादिक दुःख उपजे तो नर
