बृहत्प्रत्याख्यानसंस्तरस्तवाधिकार २ ।
पाटी मामा नाना आदिकी उत्तमताका अभिमानरूप जातिमदये आठ मद हैं ॥ ५३ ॥ इन आठोंको त्यागना चाहिये, क्योंकि ये सम्यक्त्व तथा चारित्रको नहीं होने देते ।

आगे तेतीसपदार्थों के नाम कहते हैं; -- पंचैव अस्थिकाया छज्जीवणिकाय महवया पंच । पवयणमादु पदस्था तेतीसच्चासणा भणिया ॥ ५४ ॥ पंचैव अस्तिकायाः षड्जीवनिकाया महाव्रतानि पंच । प्रवचनमातृकाः पदार्थाः त्रयस्त्रिंशदासादना भणिताः ५४
अर्थ — जीव आदि पांच अस्तिकाय, पृथ्वीकायादि स्थावर व दो इंद्रिय से पंच इंद्रियतक त्रसकाय - इसतरह छह जीवनिकाय, अहिंसा आदि पांच महाव्रत, ईर्या आदि पांच समिति व कायगुप्ति आदि तीन गुप्ति - ऐसे आठ प्रवचन माता, और जीव आदि नौ पदार्थ - इसप्रकार ये तेतीस पदार्थ हैं । इनकी आसादनाके भी ये ही नाम हैं । इन पदार्थोंका स्वरूप अन्यथा कहना, शंकादि उत्पन्न करना उसे आसादना कहते हैं । ऐसा करनेसे दोष लगता है इसलिये उसका त्याग कराया गया है ॥ ५४ ॥

निंदामि निंदनीयं गर्हे च यच्च मे गर्हणीयं । आलोचयामि च सर्व साभ्यंतरबाह्यं उपधिं ॥ ५५ ॥
