मूलाचार__अर्थ-इस प्रकार द्वीप समुद्र दूने दूने विस्तारवाले हैं असंख्यात हैं । ये द्वीपसमुद्रादिक खयंभूरमण समुद्रपर्यंत हैं और तिर्यग्लोकमें हैं ॥ १०७६ ॥ जावदिया उद्धारा अड्डाइजाण सागरुवमाणं । तावदिया खलु रोमा हवंति दीवा समुद्दा य॥१०७७
यावंति उद्धाराणि सार्धद्वयस्य सागरोपमस्य । तावंति खलु रोमाणि भवंति द्वीपाः समुद्राश्च ॥१०७७॥
अर्थ-अढाई सागरोपमके जितने उद्धारपल्य हैं उनमें जितने रोम हैं उतने ही द्वीप समुद्र हैं ।। १०७७ ॥ जंबूदीवे लवणो धादइखंडे य कालउदधी य । सेसाणं दीवाणं दीवसरिसणामया उद्धी ॥१०७८॥ जंबूद्वीपे लवणो धातकिखंडे च कालोदधिश्च । शेषाणां द्वीपानां द्वीपसदृशनामान उदधयः ॥ १०७८ ॥ अर्थ-जंबूद्वीपमें लवण समुद्र है घातकीखंडमें कालोदधि समुद्र है और शेष ( बाकी) द्वीपोंमें द्वीपोंके नाम समान नामवाले समुद्र हैं ॥ १०७८ ॥ पत्तेयरसा चत्तारि सायरा तिण्णि होंति उदयरसा। अवसेसा य समुद्दा खोदरसा होंति णायव्वा॥१०७९ प्रत्येकरसाः चत्वारः सागराः त्रयो भवंति उदकरसाः । अवशेषाश्च समुद्राः क्षौद्ररसा भवंति ज्ञातव्याः ॥१०७९॥
अर्थ-चार समुद्र भिन्न भिन्न खादवाले हैं, तीन समुद्र पानीके खादवाले हैं और बाकी समुद्र इक्षुरसके खादवाले हैं ऐसा जानना ॥ १०७९॥
