मूलाचारआगे परीक्षा करनेका अन्य उपाय भी बतलाते हैं;आगंतुयवत्थव्वा पडिलेहाहिं तु अण्णमण्णेहिं । अण्णोण्णकरणचरणं जाणणहेर्दू परिक्खंति॥१६३ ॥
आगंतुकवास्तव्याः प्रतिलेखनाभिस्तु अन्योन्याभिः । अन्योन्यकरणचरणं ज्ञानहेतुं परीक्षते ॥ १६३॥
अर्थ-अन्य संघके आये हुए मुनि तथा उसीसंघके रहनेवाले मुनि आपसमें पीछी आदिसे की गई प्रतिलेखना क्रिया, तेरह प्रकार करण चारित्रके जाननेके लिये परस्पर एक दूसरेको देखकर परीक्षा करें ॥ १६३ ॥
कोंन २ स्थानोंमें परीक्षाकरें यह कहते हैं;आवासयठाणादिसु पडिलेहणवयणगहणणिक्खेवे । सज्झाएग्गविहारे भिक्खग्गहणे परिच्छति ॥१६४॥
आवश्यकस्थानादिषु प्रतिलेखनवचनग्रहणनिक्षेपेषु । खाध्याये एकविहारे भिक्षाग्रहणे परीक्षते ॥ १६४ ॥
अर्थ-छह आवश्यक व कायोत्सर्गक्रियाओंमें, पीछी आदिसे शोधन क्रिया, भाषा वोलनेकी क्रिया, पुस्तकादिके उठाने रखनेकी क्रिया, खाध्याय, एकाकी जानेआनेकी क्रिया, भिक्षाग्रहणार्थ चर्मामार्गमें-इन सब स्थानों में परस्पर परीक्षा करें ॥ १६४ ॥ . अब आये हुए मुनि भी परीक्षा कैसे करें उसकी रीति वतलाते हैं;विस्समिदो तदिवसं मीमसित्ता णिवेदयदि गणिणे । विणएणागमकजं बिदिए तदिए व दिवसम्मि॥१६५॥
विश्रांतः तदिवसं मीमांसित्वा निवेदयति गणिने ।
