श्रावक धर्म विधि प्रकरण
24. The preaching of a yathachhand are not authentic, which means they are against the tradition of Agams. His wayward and hypothetical contemplations are also contrary to the Agams. He is busy in satisfying other people and uttering nonsense. This is the description of a yathachhand.
मच्छंदमइ
विगप्पिय, किंची
सुहसायविगइपडिबद्धो । तिहिं गारवेहिं मज्जइ, तं जाणाही अहाछंद ॥ २५ "
२५. जो स्वच्छन्द मन से कल्पित विकल्पों में जीता है और कुछ सुखद विकृतियों (विकारोत्पादक घृतादि रसों) में गृद्ध होकर तीनों गौरव ऋद्वि गौरव, सुख गौरव और रस गौरव में डूब जाता है, उसे यथाच्छन्द जानो ।

25. Consider him to be a yathachhand who, under the influence of fondness for the meagre and mundane pleasures, and perversions (availability of rich food etc.), is drawn into the three mundane attainments of worldly wealth (possessions), pleasures, and enjoyments.

२६. पुन: चैत्य की चिंता में स्थावर प्रयोग अर्थात् गृह निर्माण करना, धान्य वृद्धि का उपाय करना, कूँआ खुदवाना, बगीचा आदि लगवाना तथा अभिनव कर लगाकर सम्पत्ति प्राप्त करना तथा ऐसे और भी आगम विरुद्ध कार्य करना उत्सूत्र आचरण है ।

26. Also, to construct buildings, to employ methods of increasing agricultural produce (crop), to get wells dug, to get gardens made, etc. and impose and collect new taxes, or indulge in any other such activity that is against the Agams is erroneous conduct.
