[ 479 ] मुनिना पञ्चाङ्गमन्त्र बृहस्पतिसमानबुद्धियुतभोजराजप्राज्यसाम्राज्यसमुद्धरण समर्थबाहुबलयुक्तदानादिगुणोत्कृष्ट महामात्यपदवी लक्ष्मीवल्लभबाहुबलि महाप्रधानेन वानुत श्रीपादपद्मद्वयः वन्दितश्रीपादपद्मयुगलः तं नेमिचन्द्रं एवंविधं नेमिचन्द्राचार्य कृतधियः एतच्छास्त्रश्रवणे दत्तचित्ता++जनाः+++भक्तया सदा सर्वं कालं नमत वन्दनां कुरुत । चन्द्रेण सह श्लेषोऽस्ति ।
The Tippana seems to be by the author himself. It often quotes and explains Gāthās in Prākrta
This is a valuable work on the Jaina ethical system illustrated by scales showing the relative positions of the human feelings and emotions and how to regulate them for the annihilation of Karma, and the final emancipation. It necessarily ends with the philosophy of the soul and controverts the mokșa theories of Yoga, Sāņkhya and Saugata.
There is a pun in the mangalācaraṇa verse which is shown in the course to admit of a triple interpretation. First it is an obeisance to
Nemicandra, the Tirthankara, secondly Nemicandra, the guru of the author, thirdly to Candra, the moon.
Bāhubali was another disciple of Nemicandra, who is stated to have restored the empire of Bhojarāja ; and it is stated at the end of the work that for the edification of the prime minister Bāhubali the work was written.
It praises further at the end Sakalacandra, as the supreme priest.
The work is dated 1203 A.D.
The author's Guru Nemicandra and Sakalakirti :
यः कृष्टिस्पर्द्ध कानां व्यतनुतविधिवल्लक्षणं तद्विकल्पं साकल्येन प्रमाणं नशनविधिमतो मोक्षसंप्राप्त्युपायं । भक्तया भव्या भजन्तं कृतियतिवृषभं तं सदा लोककृष्टि षड्दुःखं श्रीधराद्यद्विजविभुबलवद्वाहुबल्यर्चपादं ।। ये कृत्वा धवलां जयादिधवलां सिद्धान्तटीकां सती चन्द्रार्कातिवत् समस्तभुवनं प्रकाशवत् संततं । उत्कृष्टं च महापुराणमनिशं तान् संधनिस्तारकान् वन्दध्वं वरवीरसेनजिनसेनाचार्यवर्यान् बुधाः ।।। कीर्तिच्छत्रयुतस्तपोबलवृतश्चारित्नसिंहासनः शीलास्त्रः शमचामरः पृथुदयादुर्ग : सुहृत्कोषवान् । प्रज्ञाचक्रधरः सुयोगसचिव: सिद्धान्तषड्दुःखकं । यो रक्षन्मुनिचन्द्रसूरि सुपति तं नौमि मूर्नादरात् ॥
