Jayadrathayāmala is said to be 24,000 slokas in extent, divided into four satkas or four parts of 6,000 slokas each. The present MS contains the last satka which principally deals with the worship of Vagalā, the eighth Mahāvidyā. For the first şațka cf. Nep., Vol. II. pp. 1-4, and for the last satka, Nep., Vol. I. pp. 175-177.
Beginning :-- श्रीदेव्यवाच ।
देवाधिदेव भूतेश नित्यानन्दनिरञ्जन । निराकारगुणातीत सर्वज्ञ शशिशेखर ॥ १ ॥
इदानौं श्रोतुमिच्छामि विद्याभेदं सुदुर्लभं ।
