Bhagavantaraya, the author of this drama is already familiar to us as the author of the Mukundavilasakāvya, described under No. 8719. Students of the Maratha History of Tanjore are aware of Bhagavanta and his works.
The present drama, which is yet unpublished, deals with the story of the Bāmāyaṇa.
