यो मूर्ध्नि मुग्धहृदयो जनगर्हणीयां धत्ते सुधांशुकलयैव सहास्थिमालाम् ॥ आकर्णयन्तु मम सूक्तिविदः प्रबन्धं तैर्नन्द्यतां कृतिरियं खलु निन्द्यतां वा । तत्कर्णगोचरतयैव भवेद्गरीयानस्माकमस्तु सफलो रचनाप्रयासः ॥

श्वासेन हुङ्कृतिमता स्तनितैः कठोरैरुत्तुङ्गशृङ्गयुगलेन च भीषणेन । यस्त्रासमावहति भीरुजनस्य शम्भो हित्वा जरद्गवमिमं कुरु भैक्षचयोम् ॥ मा दूषयः पदयुगं नलिनप्रकारं सन्ध्यासु नाथ पितृकाननचङ्कमेण । यत्क्षालयत्यविरतं परिषत्सुराणामुत्तंस पुष्पगलितैमकरन्दपूरैः || गीर्वाणलोकसरिता सह नित्यमेतां मत्स्यावलिं शिरसि मा वह गर्हणीयाम् । लोके समस्तविदिति प्रथितस्य शम्भो मा भूत्तवापि न विशेषविदित्यवद्यम् ॥ योगोचिते मदनसूदन सान्ध्यकाले शोकोचितैः शवशतैर्विशसि श्मशाने । प्रेतप्रमोदनटनं भवता न कार्यं धिग देशकालगणनाविधुरं चरित्रम् ॥ ॥ Colophon :

Contains the Sargas one to eight complete, but wants a portion in the middle of the eighth Sarga.
This poem consists of eight Sargas, and its plot is based on the Sthalamahatmya of the sacred shrine Srimuṣṇa which is, as stated herein, situated between the rivers Kavori and the Vellar and is about 24 miles from Chidambaram in the South Arcot district. By Srinivāsa Kavi, son of Viravalli Varadarya. The poem describes the incarnation of Visņu as a boar made with a view to recapture the earth, the sacrifice performed by Him at Śrīmuṣṇam, the origin of the rivers Kṛṣṇa and Suklā (Vellar), the destruction of the father of Dandaka and the festival of God Bhuvaraha at Śrīmuṣṇam, and His marriage with Lakṣmi.
