This is a hymn in praise of the ten incarnations of Vişnu composed by Seṣadrisūri, son of Venkatēśvarasūri of Ātrēyagōtra and a disciple of Ramadhvarin, at the instance of the king, Bhimaraya, who is said to be a descendant of Srirangabhūpati and to have reigned at Dharapuri. The author, who wrote a commentary on his own work, states there that it was composed in the Māsa mouth of the year Vikrama corresponding to 4861 of tha Kaliyuga, i.e., 1760 A. D., and that he was requested by the king to compose the stanzas so that they may form a panegyric of himself as well as of God Visnu.
