A DESCRIPTIVE CATALOGUE OF
पुण्ये सरसि नद्यां वा तटाके स्वगृहेऽपि वा । स्नात्वा धौतं समाच्छाद्य शुचिर्भूत्वा विमत्सरा ॥ बृन्दावने नदीतीरे गोष्ठे विष्णोश्च सन्निधौ । उपविश्या(लिप्या)रुणमृदा धातुना गोमयेन वा ॥ विनायकं नमस्कृत्य ध्यायन्ती मे(वै) सदा हरिः(म्) । एवंविधे दिने लक्षरङ्गवल्लीक्रियात्मकम् ।। व्रतमेतत् करिष्येऽहं विष्णुप्रीत्यै सकाङ्क्षया ।

लिखित्वा श्रावयित्वा च वाचयेत्तु दिनेदिने ।

This Vratat consists in the worship of Visnu on the eleventh day of the bright fortnight in the month of Bhadra pada when it happens to be a Monday or a Wednesday and is associated with the Śravaņa asterism and the Vyatīpăta or the Ganda Yöga. This is considered to have the power of cleansing one of all sins. Beginning: सनत्कुमार उवाच
कृत्वा तु पातकं घोरं नरो वाप्यथ वाङ्गना। मुच्यते कृत्तिकापुत्र तद्रतं ब्रूहि मे प्रभो ।।
