This Vrata consists in worshipping Vişnu conceived as being present in the midst of a diagram consisting of the figures of a Svastika (a kind of lotus), Sankha and Cakra in the middle surrounded by a thousand figures of the hoots of cows. These diagrams are drawn on the ground cach day until one hundred thousand figures of hoofs are drawa. The worship is to commence on the eleventh day of the bright fortnight in the month of Asādha. The observance of the Vrata is considered to enable one to obtain all prosperity. Beginning: सूत उवाच ----
शृणुध्वमृषयस्सर्वे लक्षपद्मव्रतं शुभम् । भुक्तिदं मुक्तिदं स्त्रीणां पुत्रपौत्राभिवृद्धिदम् ।। रहस्यकृतपापानां रजोमालिन्यपापिनाम् । पांसुलानां द्विजाः स्त्रीणां प्रायश्चित्तमिदं व्रतम् ।।
