This Vrata consists in the worship of the sun-goi on the seventh day of the bright fortnight in the month of Māgha. This day is considered to be as sacred and imporčant as the day of solar eclipse. The observance of the Vrata is said to enable one to realise one's desires and to bestow all prosperity. Beginning :
अथातस्संप्रवक्ष्यामि रथाख्यं सप्तमीव्रतम् । सर्वकामप्रदं नृणां सर्वपापप्रणाशनम् ॥ अभीष्टफलदं पुण्यं सर्वतीर्थफलप्रदम् । सर्वारिष्टहरं नणां सर्वसंपद्विवर्धनम् ॥
