Gives the legendary account of the lives of the forty-nine Tamil poets known as the poets of the Kadaiccangam. They are held to have lived in the court of Vangisaśékharpandiyan in Madura, and their contempt for Tiruvalluvar and the way in which they were put to disgrace by the moral and poetic excellence of Tiruvalluvar's 'Kural' are all given here. The work is based on the Tiruvilaiyadaxpurānam of Paranjotimunivar. An account of the life of Tiruvalluvar and of his brothers and sisters is also given in the end.
