This is a poem consisting of 40 stanzas, and is one of the 18 varieties of poems known by the collective name of the Padinenkilkanakku.
This describes the anxiety and grief of a young lady suffering from the absence of her husband who has gone abroad promising to return within the rainy season, but has not yet returned according to the promise.
The author is Madurai Kanṇankūttanār. The author of the commentary is not known.
