उक्त डाक्टर साहब और भी लिखते हैं किः--
“ Sugar thus cleansed is well prepared for the next refining process, which consist in putting it into a large square copper cistern along with some lime water ( a little bullocks blood) and from 5 to 20 per cent of bone black.
Other refiners use both the blood and fining with advantage.
(“ Dictionary of art " Manufactures and mines, 3rd edition by Doctor Vre London 1886, Page 1205 etc.) ___ अर्थात्-शक्करकी दूसरी सफाई इस प्रकार .की जाती है कि वह एक चौकोर ताबेकी टङ्कीमें, कुछ चूनेके पानीमें ( जिसमें थोड़ा बैलका खून भी होता है ) ५ से २० प्रति शत हड्डीका कोयला डाल कर शुद्ध की जाती है। और हड्डीके कोयले और खूनका भी अधिक प्रयोग किया जाता है।"
लन्दनके डाक्टर इसल अपनी पुस्तक Food and its. adulerations के पृष्ठ १७ और ३१ में लिखते हैं
