13. There are two verses which recommend charity :
dhanasya nihsāra-laghoh sa saro yad diyate loka-hitonmukhena | nidhanatāṁ yāti hi diyamānam adīyamānam nidhanaika-niştham |
(JM. 2. 50)
evam ca ye dravyam avāpya loke mitreşu dharme ca niyojayanti avāpta-sārāni dhanāni teșām bhrastāni nānte janayanti tāpam ||
