Some Outstanding Virtues of Pujnia
Aryikaratna Gyanamati Mataji
- Prin. J.D. Dhanal M.A. (Prakrit)
Kolhapur I was under the impression since long that the contribution of many of the latest Jain monks and aryikas, to the Jain religious literature, is little as well as poor. But the Valuable and vast works written by Aryikaratna Gyanamatiji have made me change the above supposition. Realy she is not only a brilliant Aryika to grasp the essence of the scriptures, but also she is creative writer of high quality. She has, as if, magically composed the gist of the subtle principles into a serene stream of sweet neetre. Sharp intelligence and versatile writing capacity are the main virtues of her personality.
She has parental love for every one who is pious in heart. She urges such persons to increase their pious attitude. An urge to uplift everyone is her basic mood. Pandit Motilal Kothariji (Phaltan), myself with family members, had gone to Jambudweep-Hastinapur. After having completed the teaching camp we were saying good-bye to the Mataji. She then said, "Make your mind to visit this place once a year for your soul's welfare (Atma kalyan)". How sweet were the words and how kind the heart.
Once we were listening to her sermon. She was stern in attacking females who used to take part in Dramas and dances which had no aim of moral teaching. She was very caucious to point evil effects of such practice of queer entertainment.
She paid due respect to the learned Pandits who really had done service to the community, by writing literary works on Jain Philosophy. On the Ist day of the education camp, she came to Pandit Motilal Kothari, and suggested to preside over the complete Session of the camp as Kulapati ( fa). She inquired about his health, meals and other requirements. He was treated for his deafness. The most important thing she did was that Pandit Kothari had entirely edited and prepared a press-copy of Shlokvartik (Fallchairah) of Acharya (3798) Vidyanandi (feria), He had shown it to some persons with a view to get it published. The Mataji was happy to see the Manuscript and immediately accepted it for publication in due time. What a great respect for knowledge and the learned ones she had.
Pujya Aryikaratna Gyanamatiji has influencing personality. Any one who is in her company, has to work hard, be pious and develope the soul to a better state. Many a scholars have blossomed under the kind guidance of the Mataji. Br. Ravindra Jain (ao is the best editor of (HR ) monthly, the young Aryika Pujya Chandanamatiji (qo Gradisi), the versality writer, are a few examples to note.
The Jambudweep sthala has an air of heavenly bliss. The ample supply of sweet water, the fresh open air, the temples, the Jambudweep the Meru mountain, the rooms for chowkas and the holy atmosphere wrapped with the punyaskandhas due to the monks and Aryikas; all these things have made the Jambudweep sthala, a good place for penance.
Let the name of Gyanamati Mataji, let the place of Jamboodweep, and let all the known and unknown makers of Trilok Shodha Sansthan, live long with fame spread in the Trilok (FSC). Shat Shat Vandan to Aryika Gyanamati Mataji.
