( 57 ) and commentary. It is printed in the Bombay Sanskrit Scries, but the text of the commentary is made out from one MS. These Pattan MSS will be very useful in case a new edition is undertaken.
Rşimandala-Brhartti is the only MS known of this important Prāk’ta commentary. This contains historical parti. culars of the Jaina Ācāryas, but unfortunately the MS is incomplete and folia have stuck together.
II. LITERARY. Kuvalayamuli-an old work in Prākrta composed about Saka 700 by Imrestri.' It is a fine piece of prose in Präkrta, which evinced the highest praise from the Jaina authors in the 12th and 13th centuries.
Lilārati--a romance in which Sūlivāhana figures as the hero. The story is recited by Priyatamā and done into verse by her husband, a son of Bhūşana Bhatte. It consists of 1800 yüthris and is in Mahārāştri, what the author calls Mabăratta Desi Bhāşā (Marahattha Desi Bhäsão). This is most probably whe same Lilārati Kathū which is cited as an example of poetic romance in Prākıta by Hemācārya in his Kūvyānuśāsana. The only palmleaf MS of the poem is in the Sanghavi's Pādā. It is complete but the ends of the first four leaves having stuck together, some verses cannot be read completely.
Damayanti Katha in 20 Uddesis. The writing of the last few verses of the MS being obliterated, the author's name and age remain unknown. From the script of the palm-leaf MS, it appears to be earlier than the beginning of the 11th century.
Jñana-pañcami Katha by Maheśvara, a pupil of Sajjana Upādhyāya, 2000 jūthūs, composed about the end of the 10th century of Vikrama.
Kaliūvati Caritra—anonymous life of Sati Kalāvati. The MS seems to have been written in 11th century.
Pusprovati Caritra--by a pupil of Abhayadeva(?).
