भैवर्णिकाचार। रखकर ले जावे, शवका मस्तक ग्रामकी तरफ रखें । एक मनुष्य उखानल लेकर (होडिमें अमि रखकर) चले। कुटुंबीजन विमानके आगे चलें । अन्य सब लोग और स्त्रियां भी विमानके पीछे पीछे गमन करें ॥ १३६--१३८ ॥
विमानमवरोह्याथ मार्गस्या निवेश्य च ।। विकृत्य तन्मुखं स्वीयो मुहुस्तोयैस्तु सिञ्चयेत् ॥ १३९ ।। प्रमादपरिहारार्थ परीक्ष्यैवं प्रयत्नतः। . स्मशानाभिमुखं पश्चानीत्वा तत्रावरोध च ॥ १४० ॥ ततः संस्थितमुद्धृत्य चितायां पूर्वदिङ्मुखम् । उपवेश्योत्तरास्यं वा मुखरन्धेषु सप्तसु ॥ १४१ ॥ सुवर्णेनोद्धृतं सर्पिर्दधि च स्पर्शयेत्ततः।
अक्षताँश्च तिलाश्चापि मस्तके मक्षिपदनु ॥ १४२ ॥ भाधी दूर चले जानेपर विमानको कंधपरसे उतारकर नीचे रक्खें। वहां उसका कोई आत्मीय पुरुष उसके मुखपरका वस्त्र हटाकर मुखमें थोड़ासा पानी साँचे। अनन्तर सावधानीके साथ देख-भालकर विमान उठावें । इस समय मृतकका सिर स्मशानकी ओर कर । वहां उसे लेजाकर नीचे उतारे,, विमानमें स्थित उस शवको उठाकर चितामें बैठावें, पूर्व दिशाकी और या उत्तर दिशाकी ओर उसका मुख करें। दोनों आंखें, नासिकाके दोनों विवर और मुख एवं सात छेदोंमें सुवर्णकी सलाई उठाकर घृत और दहीका स्पर्श करावें । अनन्तर उसके मस्तकपर अक्षत और तिल क्षे॥१३९.१४२॥
एकवारं जलं सव्यधारया पातयेत्ततः।। द्विवारमपसव्येन सनालकलशात् स्वकः ॥ १४३ ॥ ततोऽपि सर्ववन्धूनां पर्ययास्तु त्रयो मताः। पूर्वान्त्यौ सव्यवृत्त्यैव मध्यमस्त्वपसव्यतः ॥ १४४ ॥ मुक्तकेशाः कनिष्ठा ये प्रलम्बितकरद्वयाः।।
पर्ययद्वितयं कुर्युस्तृतीयं दृद्धपूर्वकाः ॥ १४५ ॥ इसके बाद वही आत्मीय बंधु, नालदार कलश (भंगार-झारी)से एक बार बायें हायसे जरूसीच और दो बार दाहिने हाथसे सींच। फिर उपस्थित सब बंधुओंका तीन पर्यय ( पार्टी)बनाया जाय। पहली पार्टी और तीसरी पार्टीके बंधु बायें हाथ से और दूसरी पार्टीवाले दाहिने हाथसे जलधारा दें। पहली पार्टी छोटे छोटे बालकोंकी बनावे, वे अपने सिरके बाल खुले रक्खें । दूसरी पार्टी मध्यम वयवालोंकी बनावे, ये अपने दोनों हाथ लंबे लटकाकर रक्खें तथा तीसरी पार्टी वृद्धपुरुषोंकी वनावे ॥ १४३-१४५ ॥
ततः प्रदक्षिणीकुर्याच्चितापार्श्वे परिस्तरम् । खादिरैरिन्धनैरन्यैरथवा हस्तविस्तृतम् ॥ १४६ ॥
